¹³ Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost its savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out and to be trodden under foot of men.

⁴⁹ For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt. ⁵⁰ Salt is good: but if the salt have lost its saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.

⁴ For it is impossible for those who were once inlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and been made partakers of the Holy Ghost, ⁵ And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, ⁶ And have fallen away, to renew them again unto repentance, seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

³⁴ Salt is good: but if the salt have lost its savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned? ³⁵ It is neither fit for the land nor yet for dung; they cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

⁶ Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every one.

²⁰ For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world, thro the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again intangled therein and overcome, their last state is worse then the first. ²¹ For it had been better for them, not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them.
