⁸ Again the devil taketh him with him to an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world and the glory of them, And saith to him,

⁵ Then the devil taketh him with him into the holy city, and setteth him on the battlement of the temple,

²⁶ For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give, in exchange for his soul?

⁵ And the devil taking him up into an high mountain, shewed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment. ⁶ And the devil said to him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them; for it is delivered to me, and I give it to whomsoever I will. ⁷ If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.

²⁴ By faith Moses, when he was grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, ²⁵ Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season. ²⁶ Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he looked off unto the recompence of reward.

²⁴ For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass: The grass is withered, and the flower thereof is fallen off;

¹⁵ Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world: if any one love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. ¹⁶ For all that is in the world, the desire of the flesh, and the desire of the eye, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

¹⁵ And the seventh angel sounded, and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdom of the world is become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign for ever and ever.
