²⁵ His disciples hearing it, were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?

²² And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake, those days shall be shortened.

²⁰ And unless the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened those days.

¹³ For whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord, shall be saved.

⁵ And so likewise at the present time, there is a remnant, according to the election of grace. ⁶ But if by grace, then it is no more of works: else grace is no longer grace. And if it be of works, then it is no more grace; else work is no longer work. ⁷ What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh, but the election hath obtained, and the rest were blinded.

²³ Then said one to him, Lord, are there few that are saved? ²⁴ And he said to him, Strive to enter in thro' the strait gate; for many, I say to you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
