John 15:4 Cross References - Wesley

⁴ Abide in me and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abide in the vine, so neither can ye, unless ye abide in me.

²³ If ye continue in the faith, grounded and settled, and are not removed from the hope of the gospel which ye have heard, which is preached to every creature that is under heaven, whereof I Paul am made a minister.

²⁷ To whom among the Gentiles it was the will of God to make known, what is the riches of this glorious mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

⁶ As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him;

¹⁵ But that on the good ground are they, who, having heard the word, keep it in an honest and good heart, and bring forth fruit with perseverance.

⁵⁶ He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, abideth in me, and I in him.

⁶⁸ Then Simon Peter answered him, saying, Lord, to whom shall we go? ⁶⁹ Thou hast the words of eternal life. And we have believed and known, that thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

³¹ Then said Jesus to the Jews who believed on him, If ye continue in my word, ye are my disciples indeed:

²⁰ At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.

⁵ I am the vine, ye are the branches. He that abideth in me and I in him, he beareth much fruit; but, separate from me, ye can do nothing. ⁶ If any one abide not in me, he is cast out as a branch, and is withered: and they gather and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. ⁷ If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask whatsoever ye will, and it shall be done for you.

²³ I in them, and thou in me, that they may be perfected in one; and that the world may know, that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them as thou hast loved me.

²³ Who coming and seeing the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, to cleave unto the Lord with full purpose of heart.

²² Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith; and that we must through many tribulations enter into the kingdom of God.

⁹ But ye are not in the flesh, but in the spirit, if the Spirit of God dwell in you. And if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. ¹⁰ Now if Christ be in you, the body indeed is dead because of sin, but the spirit is life because of righteousness.

⁸ Concerning this, I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. ⁹ But he said to me, My grace is sufficient for thee; for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my weaknesses, that the strength of Christ may rest upon me. ¹⁰ Therefore I am well pleased in weaknesses, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.

⁵ Examine yourselves, whether ye are in the faith: prove yourselves. Do ye not know yourselves? That Jesus Christ is in you? unless ye are reprobates.

²⁰ I am crucified with Christ, and I live no longer, but Christ liveth in me, and the life that I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

¹⁷ That being rooted and grounded in love,

¹¹ Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are through Christ Jesus, to the glory and praise of God.

⁵ Therefore when I could bear no longer, I sent to know your faith, left by any means the tempter should have tempted you, and our labour be in vain.

³⁹ But we are not of them who draw back to perdition, but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

⁶ He that saith, he abideth in him, ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

²⁴ Therefore let that abide in you which ye heard from the beginning: if that which ye heard from the beginning abide in you, ye also shall abide in the Son and in the Father. ²⁵ And this is the promise which he hath promised us, eternal life. ²⁶ These things have I written to you, concerning them that seduce you. ²⁷ But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any should teach you, save as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie; and as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in them. ²⁸ And now, beloved children, abide in him, that when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.

⁹ Whosoever transgresseth and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God:

²⁰ But ye, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith, praying thro' the Holy Spirit. ²¹ Keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
