²⁴ And when they heard it, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art the God who madest heaven and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:

¹¹ And they were filled with madness, and talked one with another, what they should do to Jesus. ¹² And in those days he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in the prayer of God.

²⁵ But at midnight Paul and Silas having prayed, sung an hymn to God: and the prisoners heard them.

⁸ For we would not have you ignorant, brethren, of the trouble which befell us in Asia, that we were exceedingly pressed, above our strength, so that we despaired even of life. ⁹ Yea, we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we might not trust in ourselves, but in God, who raiseth the dead: ¹⁰ Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust, that he will still deliver: ¹¹ You likewise helping together with us by prayer for us, that for the gift bestowed upon us by means of many persons, thanks may be given by many on our behalf.

¹⁶ Rejoice evermore: ¹⁷ Pray without ceasing: In every thing give thanks; ¹⁸ for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

¹⁷ But the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me, that through me the preaching might be fully known, even that all nations might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. ¹⁸ And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work, and preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom; to whom be the glory for ever, and ever.
