²² And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and fearing God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned of God by an holy angel, to send for thee to his house, and to hear words from thee.

²⁰ For Herod reverenced John, knowing that he was a just and holy man, and preserved him: and when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly.

³⁸ For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father, with the holy angels.

²⁵ And behold there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon, and this man was just and religious, waiting for the Consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him.

¹⁷ Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. ¹⁸ But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily; their voice is gone into all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world.

⁴ And coming to Jesus, they besought him earnestly, saying, He is worthy for whom thou shouldest do this. ⁵ For he loveth our nation, and hath himself built us a synagogue.

⁵⁰ And behold there was a man named Joseph, a counsellor, a good man and a just:

²⁴ Verily, verily I say unto you, he that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and cometh not into condemnation, but is passed from death to life.

⁶³ It is the Spirit that quickeneth: the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I have spoken, they are spirit and they are life.

⁶⁸ Then Simon Peter answered him, saying, Lord, to whom shall we go?

²⁰ Verily, verily I say unto you, he that receiveth whomsoever I send, receiveth me, and he that receiveth me, receiveth him that sent me.

⁸ For I have given them the words which thou gavest me, and they have received them, and have known surely, that I came forth from thee, and they have believed that thou hast sent me.

²⁰ Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also who will believe on me thro' their word:

³ Therefore, brethren, look out from among you seven men of good report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we will set over this business.

² A devout man, and fearing God with all his house, who gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.

⁶ He lodgeth with one Simon, a tanner, whose house is by the sea.

³³ Immediately therefore I sent to thee, and thou hast done well in coming. Now therefore we are all present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee by God.

¹⁴ surnamed Peter, Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy family may be saved.

¹² And one Ananias, a devout man according to the law,

¹⁵ Having hope in God, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and of the unjust, which they themselves also expect.

¹⁷ For the righteousness of God is revealed therein from faith to faith; as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

¹⁸ And all things are from God, who hath reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation: Namely,

⁷ He ought also to have a good report from them that are without, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

³⁸ Now the just shall live by faith; but if he draw back, my soul hath no pleasure in him.

² And by it the elders obtained a good testimony.

²³ and to an innumerable company, To the general assembly of angels, and to the church of the first born, who are inrolled in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

² That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us, the apostles of the Lord and Saviour: Knowing this first,

¹² Demetrius hath a good testimony from all men, and from the truth itself: yea, we also bear testimony, and ye know that our testimony is true.

¹⁹ Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and yet not willing to make her a publick example, purposed to put her away privily.
