¹⁶ All scripture is inspired of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness;

⁵² Then saith he to them, Therefore every scribe instructed unto the kingdom of heaven, is like an housholder, who bringeth out of his treasure things new and old.

⁴² Jesus saith to them, Have ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, is become the head of the corner? This is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes.

³¹ But touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken to you by God, saying, I am the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac, ³² and the God of Jacob.

⁴³ He saith to them, How doth David then by the Spirit call him Lord?

⁵⁴ But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?

⁵⁶ But all this is done, that the scriptures of the prophets may be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him and fled.

²⁴ For the seven had her to wife. And Jesus answering said to them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?

³⁶ For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The Lord saith to my Lord, Sit thou on my righthand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool.

²⁵ This man had been instructed in the way of the Lord, and being fervent in spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of Jesus, knowing only the baptism of John.

²⁰ And that I have with-held nothing which was profitable, but have preached to you, and taught you, publickly and from house to house:

²⁷ For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.

⁴ For whatsoever things were written aforetime, were written for our instruction, that we, through patience and consolation of the scriptures, may have hope.

¹² For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder both of the soul and spirit, both of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

²⁰ For every one that doth evil, hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

³⁵ If he call them gods, to whom the word of

¹⁶ Men, brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost spake before by the mouth of David, concerning Judas, who was guide to them that took Jesus.

⁸ And the scripture foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, declared before the glad tidings to Abraham, In thee shall all the nations be blessed.

¹¹ And he gave some apostles, and some prophets, and some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers; ¹² For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, to the edifying the body of Christ; ¹³ Till we all come to the unity of the faith and knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: ¹⁴ That we may be no longer children, fluctuating to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the slight of men, by cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive: ¹⁵ But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, who is the head, even Christ: ¹⁶ From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted, by that which every joint supplieth according to the effectual working in the measure of every member, maketh increase of the body, to the edifying of itself in love.

¹¹ And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. ¹² For it is a shame even to speak the things which are done by them in secret. ¹³ But all things which are reproved are made manifest by the light; for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.

²⁵ apt to teach, patient of evil, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if haply God may give them repentance, to the acknowledging of the truth;

² be instant in season, out of season; convince, rebuke, exhort, with all long-suffering and teaching.

⁷ Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith) To day,

¹ Now faith is the subsistence of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

¹⁹ And we have the word of prophecy more confirmed, to which ye do well that ye take heed, as to a lamp that shone in a dark place, till the day should dawn, and the day-star arise in your hearts: ²⁰ Knowing this before that no scripture prophecy is of any private interpretation. ²¹ For prophecy never came by the will of man, but the holy men of God spake being moved by the Holy Ghost.
