And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us. ²⁴ But he answered and said, I am not sent but to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. ²⁵ Then came she and worshiped him, saying, Lord, help me. ²⁶ But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs. ²⁷ And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crums which fall from their master's table. ²⁸ Then Jesus answered and said to her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it to thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was healed from that very hour. ²⁹ And Jesus departed from thence, and came nigh to the sea of Galilee; and ascended a mountain, and sat down there. ³⁰ And great multitudes came to him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus' feet; and he healed them: ³¹ So that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel. ³² Then Jesus called his disciples to him, and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way. ³³ And his disciples say to him, Whence should we have so much bread in the wilderness, as to satisfy so great a multitude? ³⁴ And Jesus saith to them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven, and a few little fishes. ³⁵ And he commanded the multitude to sit on the ground. ³⁶ And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and broke them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. ³⁷ And they all ate and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that were left seven baskets full. ³⁸ And they that had eaten were four thousand men, besides women and children. ³⁹ And he sent away the multitude, and took a boat, and came into the borders of Magdala.

²⁰ For I say to you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

¹⁵ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him two-fold more the child of hell than yourselves. ¹⁶ Woe to you, ye blind guides, who say, Whoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor. ¹⁷ Ye fools, and blind: for which is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold? ¹⁸ And whoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whoever sweareth by the gift that is upon it, he is guilty. ¹⁹ Ye fools, and blind: for which is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift? ²⁰ Whoever therefore shall swear by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things upon it. ²¹ And whoever shall swear by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth in it. ²² And he that shall swear by heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth upon it. ²³ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint, and anise, and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ye ought to have done, and not to leave the others undone. ²⁴ Ye blind guides, who strain out a gnat, and swallow a camel. ²⁵ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. ²⁶ Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also. ²⁷ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like whitened sepulchers, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness. ²⁸ Thus ye also outwardly appear righteous to men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

²² And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem, said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the demons he casteth out demons.

¹ Then came together to him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, who came from Jerusalem. ² And when they saw some of his disciples eating bread with defiled (that is to say with unwashed) hands, they found fault. ³ For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands often eat not, holding the tradition of the elders. ⁴ And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there are, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots, and of brazen vessels, and tables. ⁵ Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashed hands? ⁶ He answered and said to them, Well hath Isaiah prophesied concerning you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoreth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. ⁷ But, in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. ⁸ For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do. ⁹ And he said to them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition, ¹⁰ For Moses said, Honor thy father and thy mother; and, Whoever curseth father or mother, let him die the death: ¹¹ But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free. ¹² And ye suffer him no more to do aught for his father or his mother; ¹³ Making the word of God of no effect through your traditions, which ye have delivered: and many such like things ye do. ¹⁴ And when he had called all the people to him, he said to them, Hearken to me every one of you, and understand. ¹⁵ There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him, can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man. ¹⁶ If any man hath ears to hear, let him hear. ¹⁷ And when he had entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable. ¹⁸ And he saith to them, Are ye so void of understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him. ¹⁹ Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all kinds of food. ²⁰ And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. ²¹ For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, ²² Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness; ²³ All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

¹⁷ And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, who had come out of every town of Galilee, and Judea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them.

²¹ And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this who speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?

³⁰ But their scribes and Pharisees murmured against his disciples, saying, Why do ye eat and drink with publicans and sinners?

⁹ And there arose a great cry: and the scribes that were of the Pharisees' part arose, and contended, saying, We find no evil in this man: but if a spirit or an angel hath spoken to him, let us not fight against God.

¹⁴ And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven, to divide the day from the night: and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years.

² And when they saw some of his disciples eating bread with defiled (that is to say with unwashed) hands, they found fault.

⁵ Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashed hands?

³⁸ And when the Pharisee saw it, he marveled that he had not first washed before dinner.

⁸ Beware lest any man make a prey of you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

²⁰ Wherefore, if ye are dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, ²¹ (Touch not; taste not; handle not; ²² Which all are to perish with the using;) according to the commandments and doctrines of men? ²³ Which things have indeed a show of wisdom in will-worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honor to the satisfying of the flesh.

¹⁸ Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain course of life received by tradition from your fathers;

³ And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thy own eye? ⁴ Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thy eye; and behold, a beam is in thy own eye? ⁵ Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thy own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye. ⁶ He answered and said to them, Well hath Isaiah prophesied concerning you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoreth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. ⁷ But, in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. ⁸ For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.

¹⁸ If a man shall have a stubborn and rebellious son, who will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and who, when they have chastened him, will not hearken to them: ¹⁹ Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out to the elders of his city, and to the gate of his place; ²⁰ And they shall say to the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard. ²¹ And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he may die: so shalt thou remove evil from among you, and all Israel shall hear, and fear.

¹⁶ Cursed be he that setteth light by his father or his mother: and all the people shall say, Amen.

²⁰ Whoever curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness.

²² Hearken to thy father that begat thee, and despise not thy mother when she is old.

¹⁷ The eye that mocketh at its father, and despiseth to obey its mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it.

²⁰ To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

¹⁰ Then saith Jesus to him, Be gone, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

¹⁷ Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. ¹⁸ For verily I say to you, Till heaven and earth shall pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. ¹⁹ Whoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whoever shall do, and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

⁹ And if it shall be a beast of which men bring an offering to the LORD, all that any man giveth of such to the LORD shall be holy. ¹⁰ He shall not alter it, nor change it, a good for a bad, or a bad for a good: and if he shall at all change beast for beast, then it and the exchange of it shall be holy. ¹¹ And if it shall be any unclean beast, of which they do not offer a sacrifice to the LORD, then he shall present the beast before the priest: ¹² And the priest shall value it, whether it be good or bad: as thou valuest it, who art the priest, so shall it be. ¹³ But if he will at all redeem it, then he shall add a fifth part of it to thy estimation. ¹⁴ And when a man shall sanctify his house to be holy to the LORD, then the priest shall estimate it, whether it is good or bad: as the priest shall estimate it, so shall it stand. ¹⁵ And if he that sanctified it will redeem his house, then he shall add the fifth part of the money of thy estimation to it, and it shall be his. ¹⁶ And if a man shall sanctify to the LORD some part of a field of his possession, then thy estimation shall be according to the seed of it: a homer of barley seed shall be valued at fifty shekels of silver. ¹⁷ If he shall sanctify his field from the year of jubilee, according to thy estimation it shall stand. ¹⁸ But if he shall sanctify his field after the jubilee, then the priest shall reckon to him the money according to the years that remain, even to the year of the jubilee, and it shall be abated from thy estimation. ¹⁹ And if he that sanctified the field will in any wise redeem it, then he shall add the fifth part of the money of thy estimation to it, and it shall be assured to him. ²⁰ And if he will not redeem the field, or if he shall have sold the field to another man, it shall not be redeemed any more. ²¹ But the field, when it goeth out in the jubilee, shall be holy to the LORD, as a field devoted: the possession of it shall be the priest's. ²² And if a man shall sanctify to the LORD a field which he hath bought, which is not of the fields of his possession; ²³ Then the priest shall reckon to him the worth of thy estimation, even to the year of the jubilee, and he shall give thy estimation in that day, as a holy thing to the LORD. ²⁴ In the year of the jubilee, the field shall return to him of whom it was bought, even to him to whom the possession of the land belonged. ²⁵ And all thy estimations shall be according to the shekel of the sanctuary: twenty gerahs shall be the shekel. ²⁶ Only the firstling of the beasts, which should be the LORD'S firstling, no man shall sanctify it; whether ox, or sheep: it is the LORD'S. ²⁷ And if it shall be of an unclean beast, then he shall redeem it, according to thy estimation, and shall add to it a fifth part of it: or if it shall be not redeemed, then it shall be sold according to thy estimation. ²⁸ Notwithstanding, no devoted thing that a man shall devote to the LORD of all that he hath, both of man and beast, and of the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed: every devoted thing is most holy to the LORD. ²⁹ None devoted, which shall be devoted by men, shall be redeemed: but shall surely be put to death. ³⁰ And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD'S: it is holy to the LORD. ³¹ And if a man will at all redeem aught of his tithes, he shall add to it the fifth part of it. ³² And concerning the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, even of whatever passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be holy to the LORD. ³³ He shall not search whether it is good or bad, neither shall he change it: and if he shall change it at all, then both it and the change of it shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed. ³⁴ These are the commandments which the LORD commanded Moses for the children of Israel in mount Sinai.

²⁵ It is a snare to the man who devoureth that which is holy, and after vows to make inquiry.

¹⁹ But Peter and John answered and said to them, Whether it is right in the sight of God to hearken to you rather than to God, judge ye.

²⁹ Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

¹²⁶ It is time for thee, LORD, to work: for they have made void thy law.

¹³⁹ My zeal hath consumed me; because my enemies have forgotten thy words.

⁸ How do ye say, We are wise, and the law of the LORD is with us? Lo, certainly in vain he hath made it; the pen of the scribes is in vain.

⁶ My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

⁷ For the priest's lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth: for he is the messenger of the LORD of hosts. ⁸ But ye have departed out of the way; ye have caused many to stumble at the law; ye have corrupted the covenant of Levi, saith the LORD of hosts. ⁹ Therefore have I also made you contemptible and base before all the people, according as ye have not kept my ways, but have been partial in the law.

³ Honor widows that are widows indeed. ⁴ But if any widow hath children or nephews, let them learn first to show piety at home, and to requite their parents: for that is good and acceptable before God.

⁸ But if any provideth not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

¹⁶ If any man or woman that believeth hath widows, let them relieve them, and let not the church be charged; that it may relieve them that are widows indeed.

²⁵ And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after Paul had spoken one word, Well spoke the Holy Spirit by Isaiah the prophet to our fathers, ²⁶ Saying, Go to this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive. ²⁷ For the heart of this people is become gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

²⁶ My son, give me thy heart, and let thy eyes observe my ways.

¹³ Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honor me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear towards me is taught by the precept of men:

² Thou hast planted them, yes, they have taken root: they grow, yes, they bring forth fruit: thou art near in their mouth, and far from their reins.

³¹ And they come to thee as the people come, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness.

⁴⁷ Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!

²¹ Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.

¹² Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

¹⁰ For he that will love life, and see good days, let him restrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:

⁷ Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain: for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

¹⁶ I also will do this to you, I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.

²⁰ And your strength shall be spent in vain: for your land shall not yield her increase, neither shall the trees of the land yield their fruits.

³² Whatever thing I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add to it, nor diminish from it.

¹³ Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination to me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot endure; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting. ¹⁴ Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble to me; I am weary to bear them. ¹⁵ And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide my eyes from you: yes, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.

¹ Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and show my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins. ² Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God. ³ Why have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not? why have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labors.

¹⁴ Ye have said, It is vain to serve God: and what profit is it that we have kept his ordinance, and that we have walked mournfully before the LORD of hosts?

⁷ But, in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

² By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached to you, unless ye have believed in vain.

¹⁸ Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshiping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, ¹⁹ And not holding the head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God. ²⁰ Wherefore, if ye are dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, ²¹ (Touch not; taste not; handle not; ²² Which all are to perish with the using;) according to the commandments and doctrines of men?

⁴ Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith; so do.

¹ Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons; ² Speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their conscience seared with a hot iron; ³ Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving by them who believe and know the truth.

⁶ If thou shalt put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou wilt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished by the words of faith and of good doctrine, to which thou hast attained. ⁷ But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather to godliness.

⁹ Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines: for it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied in them.

²⁰ But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

¹⁸ For I testify to every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, if any man shall add to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book:

²⁸ And Micaiah said, If thou shalt return at all in peace, the LORD hath not spoken by me. And he said, Hearken, O people, every one of you.

⁹ And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.

³ Incline your ear, and come to me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.

¹⁹ When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the way side.

¹⁵ When therefore ye shall see the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoever readeth, let him understand,)

¹⁴ And when he had called all the people to him, he said to them, Hearken to me every one of you, and understand. ¹⁵ There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him, can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.

⁴⁵ Then in the audience of all the people, he said to his disciples, ⁴⁶ Beware of the scribes, who desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts; ⁴⁷ Who devour widows' houses, and for a show make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation.

⁴⁵ Then he opened their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,

¹⁷ That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:

⁹ For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

⁵ If any of you lacketh wisdom, let him ask of God, who giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given to him.

⁷ His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity.

²³ Whom hast thou reproached and blasphemed; and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice, and lifted thy eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel.

³ For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath uttered perverseness. ⁴ None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity. ⁵ They hatch cockatrice eggs, and weave the spider's web: he that eateth of their eggs dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out into a viper.

¹³ In transgressing and lying against the LORD, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood. ¹⁴ And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter. ¹⁵ Yes, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the LORD saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment.

³ And they bend their tongues like their bow for lies: but they are not valiant for the truth upon the earth; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they know not me, saith the LORD. ⁴ Take ye heed every one of his neighbor, and trust ye not in any brother: for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbor will walk with slanders. ⁵ And they will deceive every one his neighbor, and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies, and weary themselves to commit iniquity. ⁶ Thy habitation is in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know me, saith the LORD.

³⁴ O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh. ³⁵ A good man, out of the good treasure of the heart, bringeth forth good things: and an evil man, out of the evil treasure, bringeth forth evil things. ³⁶ But I say to you, That for every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account in the day of judgment. ³⁷ For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

¹⁸ But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. ¹⁹ For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: ²⁰ These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.

¹⁵ There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him, can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.

³⁸ And when the Pharisee saw it, he marveled that he had not first washed before dinner. ³⁹ And the Lord said to him, Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness. ⁴⁰ Ye fools, did not he that made that which is without, make that which is within also? ⁴¹ But rather give alms of such things as ye have; and behold, all things are clean to you.

¹⁴ But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean. ¹⁵ And the voice spoke to him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

⁸ But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean hath at any time entered into my mouth. ⁹ But the voice answered me again from heaven, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

¹³ Their throat is an open sepulcher; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: ¹⁴ Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.

¹⁴ I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean by itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.

¹⁷ For the kingdom of God is not food and drink, but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.

²⁰ For the sake of food, destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offense.

⁴ For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if received with thanksgiving: ⁵ For it is sanctified by the word of God, and prayer.

¹⁵ To the pure all things are pure: but to them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.

⁵ Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! ⁶ And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire from hell. ⁷ For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of animals in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed by mankind: ⁸ But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

¹⁸ For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that had quite escaped from them who live in error.

¹³ And the messenger that went to call Micaiah, spoke to him, saying, Behold now, the words of the prophets declare good to the king with one mouth: let thy word, I pray thee, be like the word of one of them, and speak that which is good. ¹⁴ And Micaiah said, As the LORD liveth, what the LORD saith to me, that will I speak.

²⁷ Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast a hook, and take the fish that first cometh up: and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: take that, and give to them for me and thee.

³² Give no offense, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God: ³³ Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.

³ Giving no offense in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed:

⁵ To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.

¹⁷ But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

¹³ (92:12)The righteous shall flourish like the palm-tree; he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.

²¹ Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.

³ To appoint to them that mourn in Zion, to give to them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he may be glorified.

⁴⁰ As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. ⁴¹ The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them who do iniquity;

² Every branch in me that beareth not fruit, he taketh away; and every branch that beareth fruit, he cleaneth it, that it my bring forth more fruit.

⁶ If a man abideth not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered: and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

⁹ For we are laborers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.

¹² Now if any man buildeth upon this foundation, gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; ¹³ Every man's work will be made manifest: for the day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will try every man's work, of what sort it is. ¹⁴ If any man's work abideth which he hath built upon it, he shall receive a reward. ¹⁵ If any man's work shall be burned, he will suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

¹⁶ For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led by them are destroyed.

¹⁹ Who is blind, but my servant? or deaf, as my messenger that I sent? who is blind as he that is perfect, and blind as the LORD'S servant?

¹⁰ His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.

³¹ The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?

¹⁵ Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? no, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the LORD.

¹⁶ Woe to you, ye blind guides, who say, Whoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor. ¹⁷ Ye fools, and blind: for which is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold? ¹⁸ And whoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whoever sweareth by the gift that is upon it, he is guilty. ¹⁹ Ye fools, and blind: for which is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift? ²⁰ Whoever therefore shall swear by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things upon it. ²¹ And whoever shall swear by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth in it. ²² And he that shall swear by heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth upon it. ²³ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint, and anise, and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ye ought to have done, and not to leave the others undone. ²⁴ Ye blind guides, who strain out a gnat, and swallow a camel.

³⁹ And he spoke a parable to them; Can the blind lead the blind? will they not both fall into the ditch?

⁵ Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing gain to be godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

¹ But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will privately bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

¹⁷ These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.

²⁰ And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshiped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

¹⁵ For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and lewd men, and murderers, and idolaters, and whoever loveth and maketh a lie.

³⁶ Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came to him, saying, Declare to us the parable of the tares of the field.

³⁴ But without a parable he spoke not to them: and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples.

¹⁷ And when he had entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable.

²⁹ His disciples said to him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb.

⁹ Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. ¹⁰ For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

⁵¹ Jesus saith to them, Have ye understood all these things? They say to him, Yes, Lord.

¹⁰ And he called the multitude, and said to them, Hear, and understand:

⁹ Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?

¹¹ How is it that ye do not understand that I spoke not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees?

⁵² For they considered not the miracle of the loaves; for their heart was hardened.

¹⁸ And he saith to them, Are ye so void of understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him.

¹⁷ And when Jesus knew it, he saith to them, Why reason ye, because ye have no bread? perceive ye not yet, neither understand? have ye your heart yet hardened? ¹⁸ Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not? and do ye not remember?

³² But they understood not that saying, and were afraid to ask him.

⁴⁵ But they understood not this saying, and it was hid from them, that they perceived it not: and they feared to ask him concerning that saying.

³⁴ And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken.

¹² For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need of one to teach you again which are the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong food.

²⁷ And they broke down the image of Baal, and broke down the house of Baal, and made it a draught-house to this day.

¹⁹ Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. ²⁰ Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them,

⁴⁵ A good man out of the good treasure of his heart, bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart, bringeth forth that which is evil: for from the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

¹³ Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God will destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for lewdness, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.

⁶ And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire from hell.

¹³ (24:12)The LORD judge between me and thee, and the LORD avenge me of thee: but my hand shall not be upon thee.

³ (36:2)For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity is found to be hateful.

¹² A naughty person, a wicked man, walketh with a froward mouth.

³² The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness.

² The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.

²⁸ The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.

My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

⁵ And there was given to him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given to him to continue forty and two months. ⁶ And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.

⁵ And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

²¹ And the LORD smelled a sweet savor; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth: neither will I again smite any more every living animal as I have done.

¹¹³ SAMECH. I hate vain thoughts: but thy law do I love.

²³ Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

¹⁴ Frowardness is in his heart, he deviseth mischief continually; he soweth discord.

¹⁵ Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.

⁹ The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men.

⁷ Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return to the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

⁷ Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths.

¹⁴ O Jerusalem, wash thy heart from wickedness, that thou mayest be saved. How long shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee?

⁹ The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

⁴ And Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, Why think ye evil in your hearts?

²² Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thy heart may be forgiven thee.

¹⁰ As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: ¹¹ There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh God. ¹² They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable: there is none that doeth good, no, not one. ¹³ Their throat is an open sepulcher; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: ¹⁴ Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness. ¹⁵ Their feet are swift to shed blood. ¹⁶ Destruction and misery are in their ways: ¹⁷ And the way of peace have they not known. ¹⁸ There is no fear of God before their eyes. ¹⁹ Now we know that whatever things the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

¹⁸ For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good, I find not.

⁷ Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. ⁸ So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these, Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, ²⁰ Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, ²¹ Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revelings, and such like: of which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

¹ And you hath he revived, who were dead in trespasses and sins; ² In which in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: ³ Among whom also we all had our manner of life in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

² To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, showing all meekness to all men. ³ For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. ⁴ But when the kindness and love of God our Savior towards man appeared, ⁵ Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Spirit; ⁶ Which he shed on us abundantly, through Jesus Christ our Savior;

¹³ Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted by God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: ¹⁴ But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own lust, and enticed. ¹⁵ Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

² Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.

²⁵ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. ²⁶ Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.

³ For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands often eat not, holding the tradition of the elders. ⁴ And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there are, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots, and of brazen vessels, and tables.

¹⁶ Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? ¹⁷ If any man defileth the temple of God, him will God destroy: for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

⁹ Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, ¹⁰ Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. ¹¹ And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

¹⁸ Flee lewdness. Every sin that a man doeth, is without the body; but he that committeth lewdness, sinneth against his own body. ¹⁹ What, know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which ye have from God, and ye are not your own? ²⁰ For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

³ But lewdness and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; ⁴ Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. ⁵ For this ye know, that no lewd, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. ⁶ Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

⁸ But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and lewd men, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

²⁷ And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie; but they who are written in the Lamb's book of life.

¹³ Zebulun shall dwell at the haven of the sea; and he shall be for a haven of ships; and his border shall be to Zidon.

¹⁵ Lord, have mercy on my son; for he is lunatic, and grievously distressed; for often he falleth into the fire, and often into the water.

⁴¹ Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Will Christ come out of Galilee? ⁴² Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh from the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?

⁷ And Joseph saw his brethren, and he knew them, but made himself strange to them, and spoke roughly to them; and he said to them, Whence come ye? And they said, From the land of Canaan to buy food.

² And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God hath led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thy heart, whether thou wouldst keep his commandments, or not.

¹ A Psalm of David. To thee will I cry, O LORD my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if thou shouldst be silent to me, I should become like them that go down into the pit.

⁸ Also when I cry and shout, he shutteth out my prayer.

¹⁵ And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals.

⁴⁷ And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me. ⁴⁸ And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.

⁶ All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

⁶ My people have been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their resting-place. ⁷ All that found them have devoured them: and their adversaries said, We offend not, because they have sinned against the LORD, the habitation of justice, even the LORD, the hope of their fathers.

⁵ And they were scattered, because there is no shepherd: and they became food to all the beasts of the field, when they were scattered. ⁶ My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and upon every high hill: yes, my flock was scattered upon all the face of the earth, and none did search or seek for them.

²⁵ Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed. ²⁶ To you first, God having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

⁴⁶ Then Paul and Barnabas became bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first be spoken to you: but seeing ye reject it, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.

⁸ Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made to the fathers:

⁴ Who are Israelites; to whom pertain the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises;

¹⁵ We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles,

¹² That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

² Beware of dogs, beware of evil-workers, beware of the concision.

¹⁰ I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies, and of all the truth, which thou hast shown to thy servant: for with my staff I passed over this Jordan, and now I am become two bands.

¹⁸ O my God, incline thy ear, and hear; open thy eyes, and behold our desolations, and the city which is called by thy name: for we do not present our supplications before thee for our righteousnesses, but for thy great mercies.

⁴⁵ That ye may be the children of your Father who is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

⁸ The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldst come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant will be healed.

⁶ Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying to him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof; ⁷ Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come to thee; but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.

¹⁸ I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, ¹⁹ And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.

²¹ And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover, the dogs came and licked his sores.

⁴⁰ But the other answering, rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? ⁴¹ And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. ⁴² And he said to Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.

⁴ By no means: verily let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mayest be justified in thy sayings, and mayest overcome when thou art judged.

¹⁹ Now we know that whatever things the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

²⁹ Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also:

¹² For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all, is rich to all that call upon him,

⁸ And last of all he was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time. ⁹ For I am the least of the apostles, who am not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

⁸ To me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;

¹⁹ And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye may be filled with all the fullness of God.

¹³ Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief: ¹⁴ And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. ¹⁵ This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

³⁰ Wherefore the LORD God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father should walk before me for ever: but now the LORD saith, Be it far from me; for them that honor me I will honor, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.

¹⁵ Though he shall slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain my own ways before him.

¹⁰ But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.

¹⁹ He will fulfill the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them.

³² But though he causeth grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.

¹⁰ When Jesus heard it, he marveled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say to you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

¹³ And Jesus said to the centurion, Depart; and as thou hast believed, so be it done to thee. And his servant was healed in the same hour.

²² But Jesus turned himself about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.)

²⁹ Then he touched their eyes, saying, According to your faith, be it to you. ³⁰ And their eyes were opened; and Jesus strictly charged them, saying, See that no man know it.

³¹ And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said to him, O thou of little faith, Why didst thou doubt?

³⁴ And he said to her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be healed of thy infirmity.

²³ Jesus said to him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. ²⁴ And immediately the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou my unbelief.

And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken to him, and he departed. ⁵¹ And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, Thy son liveth. ⁵² Then he inquired of them the hour when he began to amend: and they said to him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him. ⁵³ So the father knew that it was at the same hour in which Jesus said to him, Thy son liveth: and he himself believed, and his whole house.

¹⁹ And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about a hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb. ²⁰ He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;

³ We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all towards each other aboundeth;

¹ Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her distress, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun, and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations.

¹⁸ And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.

¹ And seeing the multitudes, he ascended a mountain: and when he was seated, his disciples came to him.

² And great multitudes were gathered to him, so that he went into a boat, and sat down; and the whole multitude stood on the shore.

²⁹ And Jesus departed from thence, and came nigh to the sea of Galilee; and ascended a mountain, and sat down there. ³⁰ And great multitudes came to him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus' feet; and he healed them: ³¹ So that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel.

¹⁶ Now as he was walking by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.

³¹ And again, departing from the borders of Tyre and Sidon, he came to the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the borders of Decapolis. ³² And they bring to him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him. ³³ And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue. ³⁴ And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith to him, Effatha, that is, Be opened. ³⁵ And immediately his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spoke plain. ³⁶ And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them; so much the more a great deal they published it; ³⁷ And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well; he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.

¹ And it came to pass, that as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret.

¹ After these things Jesus went over the sea of Galilee, which is the sea of Tiberias.

¹ After these things Jesus showed himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias: and in this manner did he show himself.

³ Who forgiveth all thy iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

⁵ Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. ⁶ Then shall the lame man leap as a hart, and the tongue of the dumb shall sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.

²³ And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness, and all manner of disease among the people. ²⁴ And his fame spread throughout all Syria: and they brought to him all sick people that were taken with diverse diseases and torments, and those who were possessed with demons, and those who were lunatic, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.

⁴ Jesus answered and said to them, Go and show John again those things which ye hear and see: ⁵ The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

³⁵ And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, they sent out into all the surrounding country, and brought to him all that were diseased; ³⁶ And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were restored to health.

³² And at evening, when the sun had set, they brought to him all that were diseased, and them that were possessed with demons. ³³ And all the city was gathered at the door. ³⁴ And he healed many that were sick with divers diseases, and cast out many demons; and suffered not the demons to speak, because they knew him.

⁵⁴ And when they had come out of the boat forthwith they knew him, ⁵⁵ And ran through that whole region around, and began to carry about in beds those that were sick, where they heard he was. ⁵⁶ And whithersoever he entered, into villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought him that they might touch, if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him, were healed.

¹⁷ And he came down with them, and stood in the plain; and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judea and Jerusalem, and from the sea-coast of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases; ¹⁸ And they that were afflicted with unclean spirits: and they were healed. ¹⁹ And the whole multitude sought to touch him; for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.

²¹ And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities, and diseases, and of evil spirits; and to many that were blind he gave sight. ²² Then Jesus answering, said to them, Go, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; that the blind see, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.

²² Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved by God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:

¹⁵ So that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them. ¹⁶ There came also a multitude out of the cities around to Jerusalem, bringing sick persons, and them who were afflicted with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.

¹¹ And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul: ¹² So that from his body were brought to the sick, handkerchiefs, or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.

²⁸ And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God, and with men, and hast prevailed.

²⁰ And he erected there an altar, and called it El-elohe-Israel.

¹⁰ And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire-stone, and as it were the body of heaven in its clearness.

¹⁵ And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

²³ Whoever offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his deportment aright will I show the salvation of God.

⁸ But when the multitude saw it, they marveled, and glorified God, who had given such power to men.

³³ And when the demon was cast out, the dumb spoke: and the multitudes marveled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.

⁸ Wherefore, if thy hand or thy foot causeth thee to sin, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet, to be cast into everlasting fire.

¹⁴ And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them.

¹² And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; so that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.

³⁷ And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well; he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.

⁴³ And if thy hand causeth thee to fall into sin, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:

¹⁶ And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet hath risen among us; and, That God hath visited his people.

¹³ But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind:

²¹ So that servant came, and showed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry, said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind.

¹⁵ And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, ¹⁶ And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan. ¹⁷ And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? ¹⁸ There are not found returning to give glory to God, save this stranger.

⁴³ And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God.

²⁴ Then again they called the man that was blind, and said to him, Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner.

² And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple. ³ Who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked an alms. ⁴ And Peter fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. ⁵ And he gave heed to them, expecting to receive something from them. ⁶ Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have I give thee: in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk. ⁷ And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. ⁸ And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God. ⁹ And all the people saw him walking and praising God: ¹⁰ And they knew that it was he who sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened to him. ¹¹ And as the lame man who was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the porch that is called Solomon's, greatly wondering.

⁸ And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother's womb, who had never walked. ⁹ The same heard Paul speak: who steadfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, ¹⁰ Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.

²⁸ Then answered one of the people, and said, Thy father strictly charged the people with an oath, saying, Cursed be the man that eateth any food this day. And the people were faint. ²⁹ Then said Jonathan, My father hath troubled the land: see, I pray you, how my eyes have been enlightened, because I tasted a little of this honey. ³⁰ How much more, if haply the people had eaten freely to-day of the spoil of their enemies which they found? for had there not been now a much greater slaughter among the Philistines? ³¹ And they smote the Philistines that day from Michmash to Ajalon: and the people were very faint.

¹¹ And they found an Egyptian in the field, and brought him to David, and gave him bread, and he ate; and they made him drink water; ¹² And they gave him a piece of a cake of figs, and two clusters of raisins: and when he had eaten, his spirit came again to him: for he had eaten no bread, nor drank any water, three days and three nights.

³² (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. ³³ But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

⁴⁰ For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the whale's belly: so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

¹⁴ And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion towards them, and he healed their sick. ¹⁵ And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals. ¹⁶ But Jesus said to them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat. ¹⁷ And they say to him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes. ¹⁸ He said, Bring them hither to me. ¹⁹ And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and broke, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. ²⁰ And they all ate, and were satisfied: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full. ²¹ And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, besides women and children.

³⁴ So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.

⁶³ Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again.

¹ In those days the multitude being very great, and having nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples, and saith to them, ² I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now been with me three days, and have nothing to eat: ³ And if I send them away fasting to their own houses, they will faint by the way: for some of them came from a distance. ⁴ And his disciples answered him, From whence can a man satisfy these men with bread here in the wilderness? ⁵ And he asked them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven. ⁶ And he commanded the people to sit down on the ground: and he took the seven loaves, and gave thanks, and broke, and gave to his disciples to set before them; and they set them before the people. ⁷ And they had a few small fishes: and he blessed, and commanded to set them also before them. ⁸ So they ate, and were satisfied: and they took up of the fragments that were left, seven baskets. ⁹ And they that had eaten were about four thousand: and he dismissed them. ¹⁰ And forthwith he entered into a boat with his disciples, and came into the parts of Dalmanutha.

¹³ And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said to her, Weep not.

²⁹ And seek ye not what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. ³⁰ For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.

³³ And while the day was coming on, Paul besought them all to take food, saying, This day is the fourteenth day that ye have tarried, and continued fasting, having taken nothing.

¹⁵ For we have not a high priest who cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but who was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.

²¹ And Moses said, The people among whom I am, are six hundred thousand footmen; and thou hast said, I will give them flesh, that they may eat a whole month. ²² Shall the flocks and the herds be slain for them, to suffice for them? or shall all the fish of the sea be gathered for them, to suffice for them?

⁴² And there came a man from Baal-shalisha, and brought the man of God bread of the first fruits, twenty loaves of barley, and full ears of corn in its husk. And he said, Give to the people, that they may eat. ⁴³ And his servitor said, What, should I set this before a hundred men? He said again, Give the people, that they may eat: for thus saith the LORD, They shall eat, and shall leave of it. ⁴⁴ So he set it before them, and they ate, and left of it, according to the word of the LORD.

³⁷ He answered and said to them, Give ye them to eat. And they say to him, Shall we go and buy two hundred pennyworth of bread, and give them to eat?

⁴ And his disciples answered him, From whence can a man satisfy these men with bread here in the wilderness? ⁵ And he asked them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven.

¹³ But he said to them, Give ye them to eat. And they said, We have no more than five loaves and two fishes; except we should go and buy provisions for all this people.

⁵ When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come to him, he saith to Philip, Whence shall we buy bread that these may eat? ⁶ (And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.) ⁷ Philip answered him, Two hundred penny-worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them make take a little: ⁸ One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, saith to him, ⁹ There is a lad here, who hath five barley-loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?

⁹ Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up? ¹⁰ Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?

⁴¹ And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said to them, Have ye here any thing for food? ⁴² And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and a honey-comb.

⁹ As soon then as they had come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid upon them, and bread. ¹⁰ Jesus saith to them, Bring of the fish which ye have now caught.

³⁹ And he commanded them to make all sit down by companies upon the green grass. ⁴⁰ And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties.

¹⁴ For they were about five thousand men. And he said to his disciples, Make them sit down by fifties in a company. ¹⁵ And they did so, and made them all sit down. ¹⁶ Then he took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed them, and broke, and gave to the disciples to set before the multitude.

¹⁰ And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. (Now there was much grass in the place.) So the men sat down in number about five thousand.

¹³ As soon as ye shall enter the city, ye will straightway find him, before he goeth up to the high place to eat: for the people will not eat until he cometh, because he doth bless the sacrifice; and afterwards they eat that are invited. Now therefore go up: for about this time ye will find him.

¹⁹ And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and broke, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.

²⁶ And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and broke it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. ²⁷ And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;

¹⁷ And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves.

¹⁹ And he took bread, and gave thanks, and broke it, and gave to them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.

³⁰ And it came to pass, as he sat at table with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and broke, and gave to them.

¹¹ And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes, as much as they would.

³⁵ And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all; and when he had broken it, he began to eat.

⁶ He that regardeth the day, regardeth it to the Lord: and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.

³¹ Whether therefore ye eat or drink, or whatever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

³ Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving by them who believe and know the truth. ⁴ For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if received with thanksgiving:

⁹ For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

³³ And his disciples say to him, Whence should we have so much bread in the wilderness, as to satisfy so great a multitude?

⁸ So they ate, and were satisfied: and they took up of the fragments that were left, seven baskets. ⁹ And they that had eaten were about four thousand: and he dismissed them.

¹⁹ When I divided the five loaves among five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? They say to him, Twelve. ²⁰ And when the seven among four thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? And they said, Seven. ²¹ And he said to them, How is it that ye do not understand?

⁵³ He hath filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he hath sent away empty.

²² And immediately Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a boat, and to go before him to the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.

¹⁰ And forthwith he entered into a boat with his disciples, and came into the parts of Dalmanutha.
