²¹ Take heed, regard not iniquity: for this hast thou chosen rather than affliction.

⁷ What man is like Job, who drinketh up scorning like water? ⁸ Who goeth in company with the workers of iniquity, and walketh with wicked men. ⁹ For he hath said, It profiteth a man nothing that he should delight himself with God.

³ For thou saidst, What advantage will it be to thee? and, What profit shall I have, if I be cleansed from my sin?

¹⁸ If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:

⁴ Therefore speak to them, and say to them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Every man of the house of Israel that setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumbling-block of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to the prophet; I the LORD will answer him that cometh according to the multitude of his idols;
