⁶² The next day, which is after the Preparation, the chief priests and the Pharisees went together to Pilate

¹⁷ Now on the first day of Unleavened Bread the disciples came to Jesus saying to Him, “Where do you want us to prepare for You to eat the Passover?”

¹ When early morning came all the chief priests and elders plotted against Jesus to kill Him. ² And having bound Him they went and handed Him over to Pontius Pilate the governor.

⁴² Now when evening had come, because it was Preparation Day (that is, the day before the Sabbath),

⁵⁴ It was a Preparation day; the Sabbath was drawing near. ⁵⁵ The women who had come with Him from Galilee followed along, and they saw the tomb and how His body was placed there. ⁵⁶ Then they returned and prepared spices and perfumes. But they rested on the Sabbath according to the commandment.

¹⁴ (now it was the day of preparation for the Passover; the hour was about six a.m.) and he says to the Jews, “Look at your king!”

³¹ Now then, because it was Preparation Day, so that the bodies should not remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a high day), the Jews requested Pilate that their legs might be broken and they be removed.

⁴² So that’s where they put Jesus, because of the Jews’ Preparation Day, since the tomb was nearby.

²⁷ Well, in fact, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, together with Gentiles and peoples of Israel, were gathered together against Your holy Servant Jesus, whom You anointed, ²⁸ to do whatever Your hand and Your counsel foreordained to happen.
