¹³ When he utters his voice, the waters in the heavens roar, and he causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth. He makes lightnings for the rain, and brings the wind out of his treasuries.

²³ Moses stretched out his rod toward the heavens, and Yahweh sent thunder and hail; and lightning flashed down to the earth. Yahweh rained hail on the land of Egypt.

²⁷ For he draws up the drops of water, which distill in rain from his vapor, ²⁸ which the skies pour down and which drop on man abundantly. ²⁹ Yes, can any understand the spreading of the clouds, and the thunderings of his pavilion? ³⁰ Behold, he spreads his light around him. He covers the bottom of the sea. ³¹ For by these he judges the people. He gives food in abundance. ³² He covers his hands with the lightning, and commands it to strike the mark. ³³ Its noise tells about him, and the livestock also concerning the storm that comes up.

² Hear, oh, hear the noise of his voice, the sound that goes out of his mouth. ³ He sends it out under the whole sky, and his lightning to the ends of the earth. ⁴ After it a voice roars. He thunders with the voice of his majesty. He doesn’t hold back anything when his voice is heard. ⁵ God thunders marvelously with his voice. He does great things, which we can’t comprehend.

²² Have you entered the treasuries of the snow, or have you seen the treasures of the hail,

²⁵ Who has cut a channel for the flood water, or the path for the thunder storm, ²⁶ to cause it to rain on a land where there is no man, on the wilderness, in which there is no man, ²⁷ to satisfy the waste and desolate ground, to cause the tender grass to grow?

³⁴ “Can you lift up your voice to the clouds, That abundance of waters may cover you? ³⁵ Can you send out lightnings, that they may go? Do they report to you, ‘Here we are’?

¹³ Yahweh also thundered in the sky. The Most High uttered his voice: hailstones and coals of fire.

³ Yahweh’s voice is on the waters. The God of glory thunders, even Yahweh on many waters. ⁴ Yahweh’s voice is powerful. Yahweh’s voice is full of majesty. ⁵ Yahweh’s voice breaks the cedars. Yes, Yahweh breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon. ⁶ He makes them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young, wild ox. ⁷ Yahweh’s voice strikes with flashes of lightning. ⁸ Yahweh’s voice shakes the wilderness. Yahweh shakes the wilderness of Kadesh. ⁹ Yahweh’s voice makes the deer calve, and strips the forests bare. In his temple everything says, “Glory!” ¹⁰ Yahweh sat enthroned at the Flood. Yes, Yahweh sits as King forever.

³³ To him who rides on the heaven of heavens, which are of old; behold, he utters his voice, a mighty voice.

⁷ He causes the clouds to rise from the ends of the earth. He makes lightnings with the rain. He brings the wind out of his treasuries.

¹⁷ They have ears, but they can’t hear, neither is there any breath in their mouths.

⁸ who covers the sky with clouds, who prepares rain for the earth, who makes grass grow on the mountains.

¹ Ask of Yahweh rain in the spring time, Yahweh who makes storm clouds, and he gives rain showers to everyone for the plants in the field.
