¹ A Psalm by David, when he was in the desert of Judah. God, you are my God. I will earnestly seek you. My soul thirsts for you. My flesh longs for you, in a dry and weary land, where there is no water.

² My soul longs and even faints for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.

⁵⁷ You are my Portion, O LORD; I have promised to keep Your words."

⁸¹ My soul is exhausted looking for Your salvation; I have set my hope in Your word. ⁸² My eyes fail for your word. I say, "When will you comfort me?"

³ When I called, you answered me. You made me bold. You strengthened me.

⁵ I cry out to you, O LORD. I say, "You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living."

²⁹ He gives power to the weary, and he increases power for the powerless. ³⁰ Even young people grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall. ³¹ "Those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary! They will walk and not be faint."

²⁴ I said to myself, "the LORD is my heritage. For this reason I will hope in him."

⁸ We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; ⁹ persecuted but not abandoned, struck down but not destroyed. ¹⁰ We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.

¹⁶ Therefore, as I said, we do not lose heart. No, even though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. ¹⁷ For our light and temporary affliction is producing for us an eternal glory that far outweighs our troubles. ¹⁸ So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

⁹ But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest on me. ¹⁰ That is why, for Christ's sake, I am content in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties; for when I am weak, then I am strong.

²¹ For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

⁶ For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time of my departure is near. ⁷ I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. ⁸ In the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved his appearing.

¹⁴ since I know that it will soon be laid aside, as our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me.

³ And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying: “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man, and He will live with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them as their God. ⁴ He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the former things have passed away.”

⁷ He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son.
