⁹ Then Jacob prayed: "O God of my father Abraham, the God of my father Isaac, O LORD, you said to me: 'Go back to your country and your family and I will be good to you.'

¹³ In your loyal love you led the people whom you redeemed; in your strength you guided them to the abode of your holiness.

⁶ And the LORD passed over before him, and he proclaimed, "the LORD, the LORD, God, who is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding with loyal love and faithfulness,

⁴² "O LORD our God, do not reject your anointed one. Remember your mercy to your servant David!"

¹⁹ Even then, in your great mercy, you did not give them up in the waste land: the pillar of cloud still went before them by day, guiding them on their way, and the pillar of fire by night, to give them light, and make clear the way they were to go.

¹¹ Do not withhold your compassion from me, O LORD. May your mercy and your truth always protect me.

¹³ But as for me, my prayer is to You, O LORD, at a time of favor, O God! in the plentitude of Your mercy answer me, in the truth of Your salvation.

⁷ Will the Lord reject me forever and not show favor again? ⁸ Has his loving kindness vanished forever? Does his promise fail for generations? ⁹ Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has he, in anger, withheld his compassion?" Selah. ¹⁰ Then I thought: I will remember the years of the right hand of the Most High. ¹¹ I will remember the deeds of Yah. Surely I will remember your wonders from long ago. ¹² I will also meditate on all your work and consider your activities.

³ He has remembered His mercy and His faithfulness to the house of Israel; all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

⁴ who redeems your life from corruption; who crowns you with mercy and compassion;

¹⁷ But the loyal love of Yahweh is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his righteousness to their children's children,

¹ Praise the LORD! Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good, for His grace endures forever.

⁴⁵ he remembered his covenant and according to the multitude of his mercies;

⁷⁷ Let your compassion come to me that I may live, for your law is my delight.

⁷ Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.

¹⁵ Look from heaven, and see from the lofty residence of your holiness and glory. Where are your zeal and strength? Your compassion and mercy to me hold themselves back.

²⁰ "Is Ephraim my dear son? Is he a darling child? Indeed, as often as I've spoken about him, I surely still remember him. Therefore I deeply yearn for him. I'll surely have great compassion on him," declares the LORD.

¹¹ "Yes, you will hear the sounds of joy and happiness and the sounds of brides and grooms. You will hear those who bring thank offerings to the LORD's Temple."' "'They will say: Give thanks to the LORD Almighty because the LORD is good, because his mercy endures forever. I will restore the prosperity of the land to what they were before,"' says the LORD.

¹⁸ Who is a God like You, who pardons iniquity and passes by the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He does not keep His anger forever, because He delights in mercy. ¹⁹ You will again have compassion on us. You will tread our iniquities under foot. You will throw all our sins into the depths of the sea. ²⁰ You will give truth to Jacob, and mercy to Abraham, as you have sworn to our fathers from the days of old.

⁵⁰ His mercy extends to those who fear Him, from generation to generation.

⁵⁴ He has helped His servant Israel, remembering to be merciful,

⁷¹ salvation from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us, ⁷² to show mercy to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant;

⁷⁸ because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the Dawn will visit us from on high,

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,

⁸ God is my witness how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus.

¹ Therefore if you have any encouragement in Christ, if any comfort from His love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any affection and compassion,

¹² Therefore, as God's chosen ones, holy and loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience.

¹⁷ If anyone with earthly possessions sees his brother in need, but withholds his compassion from him, how can the love of God abide in him?
