¹ " 'On the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you will have a holy convocation; you will not do any regular work. It will be a day for you of blowing trumpets.

²⁴ "Observe a special day of rest on the first day of the seventh month. Gather together for worship when the trumpets sound. ²⁵ Do no field-work and give to the Lord an offering made by fire.

¹ the LORD said to Moses: ² "Make two trumpets of hammered silver to use for calling the people together and for breaking camp. ³ When they are sounded, all the people are to come together to you at the door of the Tent of meeting. ⁴ If only one of them is sounded, then the chiefs, the heads of the thousands of Israel, are to come to you. ⁵ "When short blasts are sounded, the tribes camped on the east will move out. ⁶ At the sound of a second loud note, the tents on the south side are to go forward: the loud note will be the sign to go forward. ⁷ `And in the assembling of the assembly ye blow, and do not shout; ⁸ The sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow the trumpets. This shall be a perpetual ordinance for you, throughout your generations. ⁹ When you wage war in your land against an enemy who is hostile to you, then sound an alarm with the trumpets. Then you will be remembered before the face of the LORD your God and be delivered from your enemies. ¹⁰ Also, when ye be merry in your feast days and in the first days of your months, ye shall blow the trumpets over your burnt sacrifices and peaceofferings, that it may be a remembrance of you before your God. I am the LORD your God."

²⁸ And all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the Lord with shouting, and with the sound of a horn, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, playing loudly on lutes and harps.

⁶ From the first day of the seventh month, they began to offer burnt offerings to the LORD; but the foundation of the LORD's temple was not yet laid.

⁷³ So the priests, the Levites, the gatekeepers, the singers, some of the people, the temple servants, and all Israel settled in their cities. When the seventh month came, the Israelites were in their cities.

³ Blow the ram's horn in the new moon, at the full moon, on our feast day.

¹⁵ Blessed are the people who learn to acclaim you. They walk in the light of your presence, the LORD.

¹³ A great trumpet will sound. Those who were perishing in Assyria and those who were exiled in Egypt will come and worship the LORD on the holy mountain in Jerusalem.

¹⁴ Then the LORD will appear over them, and his arrow will go forth like lightning; and my Sovereign LORD will blow the trumpet, and he shall go out in the storm winds of the south.

¹⁵ He said to them, "Go into all the world and proclaim the good news to all the creation. ¹⁶ Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

¹⁴ How then can they call on the One they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the One of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone to preach? ¹⁵ And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” ¹⁶ But not all of them welcomed the good news. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our message?” ¹⁷ Consequently, faith comes of hearing; and hearing, through the word of Christ. ¹⁸ But I ask, did they not hear? Indeed they did: “Their voice has gone out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.”

¹⁶ to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles in the priestly service of the gospel of God, so that the Gentiles might become an acceptable offering to God, sanctified by the Holy Spirit. ¹⁷ Therefore I exult in Christ Jesus in my service to God. ¹⁸ I will not presume to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me in leading the Gentiles to obedience by word and deed, ¹⁹ by the power of signs and wonders, and by the power of the Spirit of God. So from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum, I have fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ.
