² the LORD will send out your mighty scepter from Zion; rule in the midst of your enemies.

⁷ Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom. He will establish and uphold it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.

Her nobles flee to Zoar, to Eglath Shelishiyah; for they go up by the ascent of Luhith with weeping; for on the way to Horonaim, they raise up a cry of destruction. ⁶ The waters of Nimrim were dried up, the grass was withered, and the herbs destroyed, and the green things gone. ⁷ So the abundance they worked and what they mustered they bear away to the wadi of the willows. ⁸ For the cry has gone around the borders of Moab; its wailing as far as Eglaim, and its wailing as far as Beer Elim. ⁹ Dimon's waters are full of blood. I will bring still more upon Dimon, a lion upon the fugitives of Moab and upon those who remain in the land.

Lament and grieve for the men and the raisin cakes of Kir Hareseth. ⁸ The fields of Heshbon and the vines of Sibmah wither. The rulers of the nations have trampled down the choicest vines, which once reached Jazer and spread toward the desert. Their shoots spread out and went as far as the sea. ⁹ So I weep, as Jazer weeps, for the vines of Sibmah. O Heshbon, O Elealeh, I drench you with tears! The shouts of joy over your ripened fruit and over your harvests have been stilled. ¹⁰ Joy and gladness are taken away from the orchards. No one sings or shouts in the vineyards! No one treads out wine at the presses, for I have put an end to the shouting. ¹¹ That is why my heart mourns for Moab like a harp. I mourn for Kir Hareseth. ¹² And when Moab goes up to the high place, and makes prayer in the house of his god, it will have no effect. ¹³ This is the word Yah Veh words ever since concerning Moab. ¹⁴ But now the LORD has spoken, saying, "Within three years, as a worker bound by contract would count them, the glory of Moab shall be brought into contempt, with all his great multitude; and the remnant will be very small and feeble."

⁴⁵ "In the shadow of Heshbon fugitives stand without strength, for a fire has gone out from Heshbon, and a flame from Sihon. And it has eaten the forehead of Moab, and the skulls of the people of tumult.

⁴ From him will come the cornerstone, from him the nail, from him the battle bow, from him every ruler together.

¹⁰ I will pour on the house of David, and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplication; and they will look to Me whom they have pierced; and they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for his only son, and will grieve bitterly for him, as one grieves for his firstborn.

³² He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, ³³ and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever. His kingdom will never end!”

⁷⁸ because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the Dawn will visit us from on high,

⁸ But about the Son He says: “Your throne, O God, will last forever and ever, and righteousness will be the scepter of Your kingdom.

¹⁹ And we have the prophetic word made more sure, and you will do well to pay attention to this as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.

¹¹ Woe to them! They have traveled the path of Cain; they have rushed headlong into the error of Balaam; they have perished in Korah’s rebellion.

¹⁴ Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these, saying: "Behold, the LORD came with many thousands of his holy ones. ¹⁵ to execute judgment on all, and to convict all the ungodly of all their ungodly deeds which they have done in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against him."

⁷ Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him—even those who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. So shall it be! Amen.

¹⁵ Then the seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign for ever and ever."

¹⁶ "I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the bright Morning Star."
