⁷ the LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knows those who trust in Him.

You have been foolish in this, for from now on you will have wars."

⁸ with him, is an arm of flesh, but, with us, is the LORD our God, to help us, and to fight our battles. And the people leaned upon the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.

¹¹ "Hezekiah your king is telling you that the LORD your God will save you from me. But he is lying! You will die of hunger and thirst."

²¹ The LORD sent an angel, who cut off all the mighty men of valor, and the leaders and captains, in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned with shame of face to his own land. When he had come into the house of his god, some of his own offspring killed him there with the sword.

¹¹ And they sang, praising and giving thanks unto the LORD because he is good, for his mercy endures for ever toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout, praising the LORD, because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid.

⁶ for the LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.

¹ For the music director. Of David, the servant of the LORD, who spoke to the LORD the words of this song when the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul. And he said: "I love you, O LORD, my strength." ² the LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower.

⁸ Good and right is the LORD; therefore he instructs sinners in the way.

⁵ Because in the day of trouble he will hide me in his shelter. He will hide me in the covering of his tabernacle He will lift me up upon a rock.

¹⁵ Call on me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you, and you will honor me."

¹⁶ But I will sing to Your strength, and in the morning will I rejoice in Your mercy; for You have been my supporter, and my refuge in the day of my affliction.

⁶ He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress. I will not be shaken. ⁷ My salvation and my glory depend on God. God is the rock of my strength, my refuge. ⁸ ¶ Wait in him at all times; ye peoples, pour out your heart before him; God is our refuge. Selah.

³ Be to me a rock of refuge to which I may always go. Give the command to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress.

¹¹ For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly. ¹² O LORD Almighty, blessed is the man who trusts in you.

⁷ In the day of my trouble I will call on you, for you will answer me.

¹ He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. ² I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust."

¹⁵ He will call upon me and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him and honor him.

⁵ For the LORD is good, His grace endures forever, His faithfulness to all generations.

¹ By David. Blessed is the LORD my rock, who is teaching My hands for war, my fingers for battle. ² my loyal love and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield, and one in whom I take refuge, the one who subdues peoples under me.

⁶ And they will speak of the power of your awesome deeds, and I will tell of your greatness. ⁷ They will utter the memory of your great goodness, and will sing of your righteousness. ⁸ the LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and great in loyal love. ⁹ the LORD is good to all, And His compassions are over all His works." ¹⁰ All your works will give thanks to you, the LORD. Your saints will extol you.

¹⁰ The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run into it and are safe.

⁴ For you have been a refuge to the poor, a refuge to the needy in his distress, a shelter from the rainstorm, a shade from the heat. For the breath of the ruthless was like a rainstorm against a wall,

¹ In that day, this song will be sung in the land of Judah: "We have a strong city. He appoints salvation for walls and ramparts. ² Open the gates, that the righteous nation may enter: the one which keeps faith. ³ You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you: because he trusts in you. ⁴ "Trust in the LORD forever, for Jah, the LORD, is the Rock eternal.

² And a man shall be as a hiding-place from the wind, and a covert from the storm; as brooks of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a thirsty land.

³ They said to him: "Hezekiah says: 'This day is a day of distress, rebuke and rejection. Children have come to birth, and there is no strength to deliver. ⁴ "'Perhaps the LORD your God will hear the words of Rabshakeh. His master the king of Assyria has sent him to reproach the living God! He will rebuke the words the LORD your God has heard. Therefore, offer a prayer for the remnant that survives.'"

⁷ Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose confidence is in the LORD. ⁸ "For he will be like a tree planted by the water. It extends its roots by a stream and will not fear when the heat comes. Its leaves will be green. It will not be anxious in a year of drought nor cease to yield fruit.

¹¹ "Yes, you will hear the sounds of joy and happiness and the sounds of brides and grooms. You will hear those who bring thank offerings to the LORD's Temple."' "'They will say: Give thanks to the LORD Almighty because the LORD is good, because his mercy endures forever. I will restore the prosperity of the land to what they were before,"' says the LORD.

²⁵ the LORD is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.

²⁸ Nebuchadnezzar spoke up and said: 'Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego! He sent his angel to deliver his servants who trusted in him. They disobeyed the king's command and were willing to risk their lives in order not to serve or worship any god except their own God.

²³ The king was very happy. He commanded that they take Daniel out of the den. So Daniel was taken out of the den, and no manner of hurt was found on him, because he trusted in his God.

²³ Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Get away from me, you evildoers!'"

⁴³ He trusts in God. Let God deliver him now, if he wants him; for he said, 'I am the Son of God.'"

¹⁴ I am the good shepherd, I know my sheep and my sheep know me

²⁷ My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me;

²² Take notice, therefore, of the kindness and severity of God: severity to those who fell, but kindness to you, if you continue in His kindness. Otherwise you also will be cut off.

⁹ But now that you know God, or rather are known by God, how is it that you are turning back to those weak and worthless principles? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again?

¹⁹ Nevertheless, God's firm foundation stands, having this seal: "The Lord knows those who are his," and, "Everyone who names the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness."

⁸ Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. ⁹ This is how God’s love was revealed among us: God sent His one and only Son into the world, so that we might live through Him. ¹⁰ In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins.
