He left none remaining, but he utterly destroyed all that breathed, as the LORD, the God of Israel, commanded. 41 Joshua struck them from Kadesh Barnea to Gaza, and all the land of Goshen up to Gibeon;

Joshua 11:10-14

10 Joshua then turned back, and captured Hazor. He killed the king with the sword, for Hazor formerly was the head of all these kingdoms. 11 And they struck every person in it by the mouth of the sword. He destroyed them, he did not leave anyone breathing; and he burned Hazor with fire. 12 Joshua took all the cities and all the kings and struck them with the edge of the sword. He utterly destroyed them. Just as Moses the servant of the LORD commanded. 13 Israel did not burn the cities standing on their mounds, except Hazor alone, which Joshua burned. 14 And all the spoil of these cities and the beasts, the sons of israel took for themselves; but every man they smote with the edge of the sword until they had destroyed them, without leaving any that breathed.
