¹⁹ Then if anyone goes out of your house into the street, his blood will be on his head, we will not be responsible; but if any damage comes to anyone in the house, his blood will be on our heads.

¹³ "The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you live. When I see the blood I will pass over you. No plague will befall you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.

²³ "the LORD will pass through to strike the Egyptians. When he sees the blood on the top and sides of the doorframe, the LORD will pass over the door and will not allow the destroyer to come in to your houses to kill you.

⁹ For he who curses his father or his mother will surely be put to death. He has cursed his father or his mother; his blood will be upon him.

¹¹ And the man who lies with his father's wife has uncovered his father's nakedness. Both of them will surely be put to death, their blood will be upon them.

²⁶ But if the killer surely goes out of the territory of the city of his refuge to which he fled, ²⁷ and the avenger of blood find him outside the border of his city of refuge and the avenger of blood kills the manslayer, he will not be guilty of blood, ²⁸ because he must live in the city of his refuge until the death of the high priest. But after the death of the high priest the killer will return to the land of his property.

¹⁴ And the men said to her, "Our lives for yours. If you do not report this business of ours, we will show you loyalty and faithfulness when the LORD gives us the land."

¹⁶ David said to him, "Your blood is on your head, for your mouth has testified against you by saying, 'I killed the LORD's anointed one!'"

²⁸ When David heard this afterwards, he said: "I and my kingdom are innocent before the LORD forever for the blood of Abner the son of Ner. ²⁹ Let it fall upon the head of Joab, and upon all his father's house. And let there not fail from the house of Joab one who has an issue, or who is a leper, or who leans on a staff, or who falls by the sword, or who lacks bread.

¹¹ How much more, when wicked men have slain a righteous person in his own house on his bed, should I not now require his blood from your hand, and rid the earth of you?”

³² The LORD will repay him for his bloodshed because, without my father David's consent he attacked and murdered two men more righteous and better than he, Ner's son Abner, the commander of Israel's army and Jether's son Amasa, commander of Judah's army.

³⁶ The king sent and called for Shimei, and said to him, “Build yourself a house in Jerusalem, and live there, and don’t go anywhere else. ³⁷ If you ever leave and cross the Kidron Brook, you can be sure that you'll die. You'll be responsible for your own death." ³⁸ Shimei said to the king, “What you say is good. As my lord the king has said, so will your servant do.” Shimei lived in Jerusalem many days. ³⁹ At the end of three years, two of Shimei's slaves ran away to Achish, son of Maacah, king of Gath. They told Shimei, saying, “Behold, your slaves are in Gath.” ⁴⁰ Shimei arose, saddled his donkey, and went to Gath to Achish, to seek his slaves; and Shimei went, and brought his slaves from Gath. ⁴¹ When Solomon was told that Shimei had gone from Jerusalem to Gath and had returned, ⁴² the king sent and summoned Shimei, and he said to him, "Did I not make you swear by the LORD? I warned you, saying, 'On the day you go out and you go anywhere whatsoever, know for certain that you will surely die.' And you said to me, 'The word is good; I accept.'

⁴ and he who heareth the trumpet doth not take warning; and the sword cometh and cutteth him off; his blood shall be on his own head. ⁵ He heard the sound of the trumpet, and didn't take warning; his blood shall be on him; whereas if he had taken warning, he would have delivered his soul.

¹⁷ Let not him who is on the house-top go down to take anything out of his house:

²⁴ When Pilate saw that he was accomplishing nothing, but that instead a riot was breaking out, he took water and washed his hands before the crowd. “I am innocent of this man’s blood,” he said. “You shall bear the responsibility.” ²⁵ All the people answered, "May his blood be on us, and on our children."

⁶ But when they began to oppose him and insult him, he shook out his clothes in protest and told them, "Your blood be on your own heads! I am innocent. From now on I will go to the gentiles."

²⁶ Therefore I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all men.

³¹ but Paul said to the Centurion and the soldiers, "Unless these men stay in the ship, you cannot be saved."

⁹ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christthe righteousness that comes from God and is by faith,

²⁹ How much more severely do you think one deserves to be punished who has trampled on the Son of God, profaned the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and insulted the Spirit of grace?

²⁷ And as for you, the anointing which you received from him remains in you, and you do not have need that anyone teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you reside in him. ²⁸ And now, little children, remain in Him, so that when He appears, we may be confident and unashamed before Him at His coming.
