³ I took your father Abraham from beyond the River, and led him throughout all the land of Canaan, and multiplied his descendants, and gave him Isaac.

¹ the LORD said to Abram: "Leave your country, your people, and your father's household, and go to the land I will show you. ² "I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you. I will make your name great. You will be a blessing. ³ And I will bless those who bless you, and those who curse you I will curse. And all families of the earth will be blessed in you." ⁴ So Abram went, as the LORD had told him. Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran.

⁵ And he brought him outside and said, "Look toward the heavens and count the stars if you are able to count them." And he said to him, "So shall your offspring be."

² Sarah became pregnant and bore a son to Abraham in his old age. It was at the very time God had promised him. ³ Abraham gave the name Isaac (he laughs) to the son Sarah bore him.

⁷ You are the LORD, the God who chose Abram and brought him from Ur of the Chaldeans and named him Abraham. ⁸ and foundest his heart faithful before thee, and madest a covenant with him to give unto his seed the land of the Cananites, Hittites, Amorites, Perezites, Jebusites, and Girgashites - and hast made good thy words: for thou art righteous,

³ Children are an inheritance from the LORD. They are a blessing from him.

² And Stephen declared: “Brothers and fathers, listen to me! The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham while he was still in Mesopotamia, before he lived in Haran, ³ 'Leave your country and your kindred, and come into the country that I will show you.'
