59 Now the chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were looking for false testimony against Jesus in order that they could put him to death. 60 But they could not find it, though many false witnesses came forward. Finally two came forward 61 and said, "This fellow said, 'I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.'" 62 Then the High Priest stood up, and said to Jesus: "Have you no answer? What is this evidence which these men are giving against you?" 63 But Jesus remained silent. And the high priest said to him, "I charge you under oath by the living God: tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God." 64 “You have said it yourself,” Jesus answered. “But I say to all of you, from now on you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.” 65 Then the high priest tore his clothes and said, "He has spoken blasphemy! Why do we need any more witnesses? Look, now you have heard his blasphemy. 66 What do you think?” “He deserves to die,” they answered. 67 Then they spit in his face and struck him with their fists. Some slapped him, 68 and said, “Prophesy to us, Christ! Who hit You?”

Again the high priest asked him, "Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?" 62 “I am,” said Jesus, “and you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power and coming with the clouds of heaven.” 63 The high priest tore his clothes and said, "Why do we need any more witnesses? 64 You have heard the blasphemy. What do you think?" They all condemned him to be worthy of death. 65 Then some of them began to spit on Him. They blindfolded Him, struck Him with their fists, and said to Him, “Prophesy!” And the officers received Him with slaps in His face.
