¹¹ But the LORD is with me like a powerful warrior. Therefore my persecutors will stumble and will not prevail. They will be very ashamed, for they will not achieve success. Their everlasting insult will not be forgotten.

³⁵ Vengeance is mine, I will repay, at the time when their foot slides; for the day of their calamity is near, and the things to come hasten upon them." ³⁶ For the LORD shall judge his people, and have compassion on his servants, when he sees that their power is gone, and there is none left, slave or free.

¹⁰ All my enemies will be ashamed and dismayed. They will turn back in sudden disgrace.

¹ The LORD is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid? ² When evildoers drew near against me To devour my flesh, They who were to me my foes and my enemies, They stumbled and fell."

²⁶ Let those who gloat over my downfall be thoroughly put to shame and confused. Let those who promote themselves at my expense be clothed with shame and disgrace.

¹⁴ Let all those who seek to end my life be confused and put to shame. Let those who want my downfall be turned back and disgraced.

² (47:3) For the LORD is most high, awful; a great King over all the earth.

⁵ By awesome deeds you answer us in righteousness, O God of our salvation. You are trusted to the ends of the earth and the farthest sea.

⁵ Come, and see the works of God, awesome in actions toward the sons of men.

¹⁰ "'Do not fear for I am with you! Do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.'

¹⁴ "Do not be afraid, O worm Jacob, O little Israel, for I will help you. This is the declaration of the LORD, your Redeemer, and the Holy One of Israel.

¹⁶ The makers of idols will be put to shame and disgraced. They will go off into disgrace together.

⁸ Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you," declares the LORD.

¹⁹ "They will fight you but they will not defeat you. I am with you, and I will rescue you," declares the LORD.

²⁰ And I will make you to this people a fortified wall of bronze; and they shall fight against you, but they shall not overcome you; for I am with you to save you and to deliver you, says the LORD.

¹⁸ Let those who pursue me be put to shame, but don't put me to shame. Let them be terrified, but don't let me be terrified. Bring the day of judgment on them, and destroy them with double destruction!

⁴⁰ and I will bring upon you an everlasting disgrace and an everlasting shame that will not be forgotten."

² Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

⁴ Jesus, knowing everything that was to happen, went out and said to them. Whom do you want? ⁵ "Jesus the Nazarene," they replied. Jesus said, "I am he." (And Judas the traitor was standing beside them.) ⁶ When Jesus said 'I am he,' they drew back and fell to the ground.

³¹ What then shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

¹⁷ But the Lord stood at my side and gave me strength, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. And I was rescued from the lion's mouth.
