¹ Now the first covenant had regulations for worship and an earthly sanctuary.

⁸ Let them make a sanctuary for me so I may dwell among them.

³ You shall not do as they do in the land of Egypt, where you lived. You shall not do as they do in the land of Canaan, where I am bringing you. You shall not follow their statutes. ⁴ You shall do my ordinances, and keep my statutes, to walk therein: I am the LORD your God.

³⁰ Therefore you shall keep my requirements, that you do not practice any of these abominable customs, which were practiced before you, and that you do not defile yourselves with them: I am the LORD your God.'"

⁹ They shall therefore follow My requirements, lest they bear sin for it, and die therein, if they profane it. I am the LORD who sanctifies them.

¹² They should not leave any of it by morning or break any of its bone. They must observe it according to all the statutes of the Passover.

¹¹ "Suppose they are ashamed of everything that they have done. Then show them the design of the Temple, its arrangements, its exits and entrances-its entire design. Tell them about all its rules and regulations. Then write these things down for them so that they can remember its design and follow all its rules.

⁶ They were both upright in the sight of God, blamelessly observing all the Lord's commands and requirements.

⁸ See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, which are based on human tradition and the spiritual forces of the world rather than on Christ.

⁷ Now if there had been nothing wrong with that first covenant, no place would have been sought for a second one;

¹³ In speaking of a "new" covenant, he has made the first one obsolete, and what is obsolete and aging will soon disappear.
