¹¹ The earth was corrupt in God's sight. It was full of violence.

¹ the LORD said to Noah: "Go into the ark, you and your whole family. For I have found you righteous in this generation.

⁹ He was a mighty hunter before the LORD. That is why it is said: "Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before the LORD."

¹³ The men of Sodom were wicked and sinned greatly against the LORD.

There is no faithfulness or loyalty, there is no knowledge of God in the land. ² There is cursing, lying, murder, stealing, and committing adultery; they break boundaries, and bloodshed causes bloodshed.

² How long, O LORD (YHWH), will I call for help and you do not hear? I cry out to you, save me from violence! And yet you do not save.

⁸ Because you have plundered many nations, all the nations that are left shall plunder you, because of the blood of men, and the sins of the land and city, and of all that dwell in it.

¹⁷ Indeed, the violence done to Lebanon will overtake you, and the destruction of the beasts will terrorize you because you shed human blood and did violence to the land, to the city, and to all who live in it.

⁶ They were both upright in the sight of God, blamelessly observing all the Lord's commands and requirements.

¹³ For it is not merely those who hear the law who are righteous in God's sight. No, it is those who follow the law, who will be justified.

¹⁹ Now we know that whatever the Law says, it says to those who are under the Law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God.
