¹³ The men of Sodom were wicked and sinned greatly against the LORD.

¹¹ The earth was corrupt in God's sight. It was full of violence.

⁹ He was a mighty hunter before the LORD. That is why it is said: "Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before the LORD."

¹⁶ And the fourth generation they shall turn back hither: for the crime of the Amorite has not been completed till now.

²⁰ And the LORD said, "The cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and their sin is exceeding grievous.

⁴ But before they went to bed, the men of the city beset the house, both young and old, all the people together. ⁵ They called to Lot, and said to him, "Where are the men who came in to you this night? Bring them out to us, that we may have sex with them." ⁶ Lot went out to them to the door, and shut the door after him. ⁷ and said, I pray you, my brethren, do not wickedly! ⁸ Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man. I pray you, let me bring them out to you, and you do to them as you see fit. But do nothing to these men, for this is why they came under the shadow of my roof. ⁹ And they say, Draw back. And they say, This one came in to sojourn and in judging, he judges: now we vilify you, rather than them. And they urge mightily on the man, Lot and come near to break the door. ¹⁰ But the men put out their hands and pulled Lot to them, into the house, and shut the door. ¹¹ They struck the men who were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great, so that they wearied themselves to find the door.

⁷ Er, Judah's firstborn, was wicked in the LORD's sight. So the LORD killed him.

¹⁸ The LORD sent you on a mission: 'Go and completely destroy the sinners, the Amalekites, and fight against them until they're destroyed.'

⁶ He made his son to pass through the fire, and practiced sorcery, and practiced divination, and consulted mediums, and spiritists: he worked much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.

⁹ Unless the LORD of hosts had left us a few survivors, we would have been as Sodom, and we would have been like Gomorrah.

⁸ For stumbled bath Jerusalem, and, Judah, hath fallen,—Because, their tongue and their doings, are against the LORD, Provoking his glorious presence, ⁹ The look of their faces testify against them. They parade their sin like Sodom. They do not hide it. Woe to their soul. For they have brought disaster upon themselves.

²⁴ Can any hide himself in secret places so that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.

⁴⁶ '"Now your older sister is Samaria, who lives north of you with her daughters. Your younger sister, who lives south of you, is Sodom with her daughters. ⁴⁷ Yet hast thou not walked after their ways, nor done after their abominations: but in all thy ways thou hast been more corrupt than they. ⁴⁸ As I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, your sister Sodom, she and her daughters, have not done as you and your daughters have done. ⁴⁹ ‘»This was the guilt of your sister Sodom. She and her daughters had arrogance, abundant food and careless ease, but she did not help the poor and needy. ⁵⁰ '"They were arrogant and did disgusting things in front of me. So I did away with them when I saw this.

¹⁰ Later, as Jesus was dining at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with Him and His disciples.

¹³ But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

²³ And you, Capernaum, will you be lifted up to heaven? No, you will descend to Hades! For if the miracles that were performed in you had happened in Sodom, it would have remained to this day. ²⁴ But I tell you that it will be more bearable for Sodom on the day of judgment than for you.”

²⁴ So a second time they called the man who had been blind, and said to him, "Give God the praise; we know this man is a sinner."

³¹ We know that God does not listen to sinners, but He does listen to the one who worships Him and does His will.

²⁷ Likewise, the men abandoned natural relations with women and burned with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

¹³ Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight; everything is uncovered and exposed before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.

⁶ if He condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction, reducing them to ashes as an example of what is coming on the ungodly; ⁷ and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man, who was distressed by the filthy lives of lawless men ⁸ (for that righteous man, living among them day after day, was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard)—

¹⁰ Such punishment is specially reserved for those who indulge the corrupt desires of the flesh and despise authority. Bold and self-willed, these men are unafraid to slander angelic majesties.

⁷ So also, in a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah, and their surrounding towns, which had abandoned themselves to sexual immorality and [sexually] perverted behavior, serve as an example [of people] who [will] suffer the punishment of never ending fire.
