⁵ And say to them, So says the Sovereign LORD: In the day that I chose Israel, and lifted up My hand to the seed of the house of Jacob, and made Myself known to them in the land of Egypt; when I lifted up My hand to them, saying, I am the LORD your God;

²² And Abram said to the king of Sodom, "I have raised my hand to the LORD, God Most High, Maker of heaven and earth,

⁶ Then he said, "I am the God of your ancestors, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob." At this, Moses hid his face because he was afraid to look at God.

⁸ I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey; to the place of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite.

¹⁶ Go and assemble the elders of Israel, and say to them, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, appeared to me, saying, I have surely visited you, and seen that which is done to you in Egypt.

³¹ The people believed them. When they heard that the LORD was concerned about the people of Israel and that he had seen their misery, they knelt, bowed low and worshiped.

² And God said to Moses, I am the LORD:

⁶ Therefore say to the Israelites, 'I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the forced labor of Egypt, and I will deliver you from their slavery, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great punishments. ⁷ I'll take you for my own people, and I'll be your God. Then you will know that I am the LORD your God who brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.

⁴ 'You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt and how I bore you on eagles' wings and I brought you to me. ⁵ ‘If you will obey me and are faithful to the terms of my covenant, then out of all the nations you will be my own special possession, for all the earth is mine. ⁶ but you, you will belong to me as a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.' These are the words that you will speak to the Israelites."

² "I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. ³ You shall have no other gods before me.

³⁴ Or has a god ever attempted to go to take for himself a nation from the midst of a nation, using trials and signs and wonders and war, with an outstretched arm and with great and awesome deeds, like all that the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?

³⁷ And because he loved your ancestors he chose their descendants after them. And he brought you forth from Egypt with his own presence, by his great strength,

⁶ For you are a holy people to the LORD your God. the LORD your God has chosen you to be His own treasure out of all the people on the face of the earth.

² Know this day—for I don't speak with your children who have not known, and who have not seen the chastisement of the LORD your God, his greatness, his mighty hand, his outstretched arm, ³ His signs and His deeds that He did in the midst of Egypt to Pharaoh king of Egypt and to all his country ⁴ what he did to the Egyptian army, its horses and chariots, when he caused the waters of the Reed Sea to engulf them as they pursued you; how the LORD destroyed them, even to this day; ⁵ and what he did to you in the desert until you came up to this place, ⁶ "And what he did to Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben, when the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them, their households, their tents, and every living thing that followed them in all Israel. ⁷ Your very own eyes saw all the great things that the LORD did."

² »You are a holy people to the LORD your God. Out of all the people on the face of the earth the LORD has chosen you to be a people for His own possession.

⁴⁰ For I lift up My hand to heaven and say, as surely as I live forever,

¹² Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he has chosen for his inheritance.

⁷ who made known his ways to Moses, his deeds to the people of Israel.

⁸ "However you, O Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, you descendants of Abraham, my friend, ⁹ "'I took you from the ends of the earth. I called you from its farthest corners. I said: 'You are my servant. I have chosen you and have not rejected you.

¹⁰ You are My witnesses, says the LORD, and My servant whom I have chosen; that you may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He. Before Me no God was formed, nor shall there be after Me.

¹ But now hear, Jacob my servant; and Israel, whom I have chosen. ² "'This is what the LORD says, the one who made you, who formed you in the womb, and who will help you: 'Do not be afraid, O Jacob, my servant, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen.

²⁴ "Haven't you noticed what these people have been saying? 'The LORD rejected the two families that he had chosen!' They have contempt for my people and no longer consider them a nation.

¹⁵ Yet even l lifted up my hand to them. in the desert,— That I would not b1ing them into the land which I had given to them flowing with milk and honey, The beauty, it was. of all lands:

²³ Again I lifted up my hand upon them in the wilderness, to disperse them among the nations, and scatter them through the countries:

¹¹ Therefore, as I live," declares the Sovereign LORD, "so I will deal with you according to your anger and according to your jealousy that you did, because of your hatred against them, and I will make myself known among them when I judge you.

¹⁴ And ye inherited it, each as his brother: which I lifted up my hand to give it to your fathers: and this land fell to you in inheritance.

²⁰ If the Lord had not shortened those days, nobody would be saved. But for the sake of the elect, whom He has chosen, He has shortened them.

⁵ Then the angel, whom I had seen standing on the sea and on the land, raised his right hand to heaven,
