The half shekel is a contribution for the LORD. ¹⁴ Everyone who is numbered, from twenty years old and over, is to give an offering to the Lord. ¹⁵ The rich shall not give more, and the poor shall not give less than half a shekel, to give the offering of the LORD, to make atonement for your souls. ¹⁶ You shall take the atonement money from the Israelites and give it for the service of the Tent of Meeting, and it shall be a memorial for the Israelites before the LORD to make atonement for yourselves." ¹⁷ The LORD said to Moses, ¹⁸ "Make a copper basin with a bronze stand for washing. Put it between the tent of meeting and the altar, and fill it with water. ¹⁹ And Aaron and his sons shall wash their hands and their feet with water from it. ²⁰ When they enter the tent of meeting, they shall bathe with water so shall they not die,—or when they approach unto the altar to minister, to burn as incense an altar-flame to the LORD: ²¹ "They must wash their hands and feet, so that they will not die. This is a long lasting rule that they and their descendants are to observe." ²² The LORD said to Moses, ²³ "You shall take for yourself the finest spices: 500 shekels of liquid myrrh, half as much fragrant cinnamon (250 shekels), 250 shekels of fragrant reeds, ²⁴ and five hundred shekels of cassia, according to the sanctuary shekel, and a hin of olive oil. ²⁵ You shall make them into a holy anointing oil, a perfume mixture made by a perfumer. It shall be a holy anointing oil. ²⁶ You shall use it to anoint the Tent of Meeting, the ark of the testimony, ²⁷ the table and all its articles, the lampstand and its accessories, the altar of incense, ²⁸ the altar of burnt offering with all its utensils, and the basin with its base. ²⁹ You shall consecrate them and they shall be most holy. Whatever touches them shall be holy. ³⁰ And anoint Aaron and his sons and consecrate them to minister unto me. ³¹ You shall speak to the Israelites saying, 'This shall be holy anointing oil for me from generation to generation. ³² It is not to be used for man's flesh, and no other is to be made like it: holy it is, and you are to keep it holy. ³³ Whoever makes any like it, or puts it on one who is not a priest, will be cut off from his people. ³⁴ The LORD said to Moses, "Take for yourself spices: stacte, onycha, galbanum, and spices with pure frankincense, all in equal amounts. ³⁵ and make it into a compound of incense, the work of a perfumer, salted, pure, holy. ³⁶ You shall grind some of it fine, and put some before the Testimony in the Tent of Meeting where I shall meet with you. It shall be most holy to you. ³⁷ "Do not make any incense for yourselves using this formula. Treat it as holy to the LORD. ³⁸ Whoever makes any like it, for its sweet smell, will be cut off from his people.

⁷ "Aaron must burn sweet incense on this altar every morning when he takes care of the lamps. ⁸ and likewise at even when he setteth up the lamps he shall burn cense perpetually before the LORD throughout your generations.

¹⁰ And once in the year Aaron shall make atonement on its horns, he shall purge it with the blood of purification for their generations: it is most holy to the Lord.

⁵ "Put the gold altar for burning incense in front of the Covenant Box and hang the curtain at the entrance of the Tabernacle.

⁷ The priest shall put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of fragrant incense before the LORD, which is in the tent of assembly, and all the rest of the bull's blood he must pour out on the base of the altar of the burnt offering, which is at the entrance of the tent of assembly.

¹⁸ He shall put some of the blood on the horns of the altar which is before the LORD, that is in the Tent of Meeting; and the rest of the blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar of burnt offering, which is at the door of the Tent of Meeting.

²⁰ In front, the inner sanctuary was twenty cubits long and twenty cubits wide and twenty cubits high, and he overlaid it with pure gold and covered the altar with cedar.

¹⁶ But when he became strong his heart was lifted up to [his] downfall; and he transgressed against the LORD his God, and went into the temple of the LORD to burn incense upon the altar of incense.

³ Another angel, who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. And he was given much incense to offer, with the prayers of all the saints, on the golden altar before the throne.

² "Place a horn at each of its four corners. The four horns and the altar must be made out of one piece of wood covered with copper.

²⁴ You shall overlay it with pure gold, and make a gold molding around it.

¹² You shall cast four rings for it and put them on its four feet, two rings on one side of it and two rings on its other side.

¹⁴ You shall put the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark to carry the ark.

²⁷ "The rings are to be close to the rim. They are to hold the poles for carrying the table.

²⁹ "Cover the frames with gold. Make gold rings to hold the crossbars. Cover the crossbars with gold.

⁴ "Make a grate for it out of copper mesh. Make a copper ring for each of the four corners of the grate.

⁷ The poles for it shall be put through the rings, so the poles will be on the two sides of the altar when it's carried.

¹³ You shall make poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold.

²¹ And put the cover over the ark, and in the ark the record which I will give you. ²² "I will be above the throne of mercy between the angels whenever I meet with you. I will give you all my commandments for the Israelites.

³¹ “You shall make a veil of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, with cherubim. It shall be the work of a skillful workman. ³² Hanging it by gold hooks from four pillars of wood, plated with gold and fixed in silver bases. ³³ You shall hang the curtain from the clasps and bring the Ark of the Testimony there inside the curtain. The curtain shall separate for you the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place. ³⁴ And you will put the atonement cover on the ark of the testimony in the most holy place. ³⁵ You shall put the table outside the curtain. You shall put the table on the north side with the lamp stand opposite the table on the south side of the tabernacle.

⁴² It shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the door of the Tent of Meeting before the LORD, where I will meet with you, to speak there to you. ⁴³ "And I will meet with the Israelites there, and it will be consecrated by my glory.

³⁶ You shall grind some of it fine, and put some before the Testimony in the Tent of Meeting where I shall meet with you. It shall be most holy to you.

³ You shall put the ark of the testimony in it, and you shall veil the ark with the curtain.

²⁶ He put the golden altar in the Tent of Meeting in front of the curtain

¹³ and he shall put the incense on the fire before the LORD, that the cloud of the incense may cover the mercy seat that is on the testimony, so that he will not die.

⁴ You shall lay them up in the Tent of Meeting before the testimony, where I meet with you.

¹¹ Then David gave his son Solomon the plans for the entrance hall and the Temple, the storerooms, upper rooms, inner rooms, and the room for the throne of mercy.

⁵¹ At that moment the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth quaked and the rocks were split.

¹⁶ Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

³ Behind the second curtain was a room called the Most Holy Place, ⁴ containing the golden altar of incense and the gold-covered ark of the covenant. Inside the ark were the gold jar of manna, Aaron’s staff that had budded, and the stone tablets of the covenant. ⁵ Above the ark were the cherubim of glory, overshadowing the mercy seat. But we cannot discuss these things in detail now.

²⁰ "Command the Israelites that the lighting must be provided by pure virgin olive oil so that the lamps will not go out. ²¹ "Keep the lamps lit in the tent of meeting outside the canopy where the words of my covenant are. Aaron and his descendants must keep the lamps lit in the LORD's presence from evening until morning. This is a long lasting law among the Israelites for generations to come.

³⁴ The LORD said to Moses, "Take for yourself spices: stacte, onycha, galbanum, and spices with pure frankincense, all in equal amounts.

²⁸ And I chose him from all the tribes of Israel to be a priest to me, to go up to my altar, to burn incense, and to bear an ephod before me. I gave to the house of your ancestor all the offerings made by fire by the Israelites.

³ and the lamp of God was not yet gone out and Samuel was laid down in the temple of the LORD where the ark of God was,

¹³ The sons of Amram: Aaron and Moses. Aaron was set apart, he and his descendants from generation to generation, to consecrate the most holy things, to offer sacrifices before the LORD, to minister before him and to pronounce blessings in his name as long as they live.

⁹ he was chosen by lot, according to the custom of the priesthood, to enter the temple of the Lord and burn incense.

⁴ and we will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word.

⁶ "You will keep it until the fourteenth day of this month, and all the assembly of the community of Israel will slaughter it at twilight.

³⁴ Who is there to condemn us? For Christ Jesus, who died, and more than that was raised to life, is at the right hand of God—and He is interceding for us.

¹⁷ Pray continually!

²⁵ Therefore He is able to save completely those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to intercede for them.

²⁴ For Christ did not enter a holy place made with hands, a copy of the true one, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us.

¹ And the two sons of Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, each took his censer and put fire in it, and laid incense on it, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he had not commanded them.

³⁶ »Offer a bull as a sin offering for atonement each day. Purify the altar when you make atonement for it. Anoint it to consecrate it. ³⁷ You shall make atonement for the altar for seven days and consecrate it. It will be most holy, and whatever touches it will be holy."

⁵ And he shall take of the multitude of the children of Israel two goats for a sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering. ⁶ And Aaron shall offer the young bull for his own sin offering, and make atonement for himself and his household.

¹⁸ "He shall go out to the altar that is before the LORD and make atonement for it, and shall take some of the bull's blood, and some of the goat's blood, and put it around on the horns of the altar.

²⁹ "And this shall be a lasting statute for you: in the seventh month, on the tenth of the month, you must deny yourselves and you must not do any work, whether the native or the alien who is dwelling in your midst, ³⁰ For on this day atonement will be made for you, to cleanse you. You will be clean from all your sins before the LORD.

²⁷ But on the tenth day of this seventh month is the day of atonement, a holy convocation shall it be unto you, and ye shall fast; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord.

³ The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His nature, upholding all things by His powerful word. After He had provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.

⁷ But only the high priest entered the inner room, and then only once a year, and never without blood, which he offered for himself and for the sins the people had committed in ignorance.

²² In fact, under the law almost everything is cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of the blood there is no forgiveness. ²³ It was necessary, then, for the copies of the heavenly things to be purified with these sacrifices, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

²⁵ Nor did He enter heaven to offer Himself again and again, as the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood that is not his own.

²⁵ The silver from those of the congregation who were recorded totaled 100 talents and 1,775 shekels, according to the standard used in sanctuary; ²⁶ a beka a head (a beka is half a shekel, according to the standard used in the sanctuary) for everyone who went through the registration process from 20 years old and older. The total numbered 603,550 bekas.

² "Take a census of the entire Israelite community, numbering them by their clans and by ancestral houses. List the names of every male one-by-one, ³ From twenty years old and upwards, of all the men of Israel fit for war, and you shall number them by their troops, thou and Aaron. ⁴ A man from each tribe will be with you, each man the head of his family. ⁵ And these are the names of the men who will assist you: from Reuben, Elizur son of Shedeur;

² Let all the children of Israel be numbered, by the names of their fathers' families, all those of twenty years old and over who are able to go to war in Israel. ³ And Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke in Araboth of Moab at the Jordan by Jericho, saying, ⁴ "Take a census of those at least twenty years old, as the LORD commanded Moses." These are the Israelites who came from Egypt:

⁵⁰ "So we brought as an offering to the LORD what each man found, articles of gold, armlets and ankle bracelets, signet rings, earrings and necklaces, to make atonement for ourselves before the LORD."

¹ Again the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he moved David against them, saying, "Go, number Israel and Judah." ² King David said to Joab the commander of the army: "Go throughout the tribes of Israel from Dan to Beersheba and count the people. That way I will know how many there are." ³ And Joab said to the king, And may the LORD your God add to the people however many they be, a hundred times as many, and may the eyes of my lord the king see it. But why does my lord the king delight in this thing? ⁴ The king made Joab and his officers obey his order. They left his presence and went out to count the people of Israel. ⁵ And they crossed over the Jordan and camped in Aroer, on the right of the city, in the middle of the Valley of Gad, and to Jazer. ⁶ Then they went to Gilead and to the land of Tahtim Hodshi. They came to Dan Jaan and around to Sidon ⁷ They came to the fortress of Tyre. They went through every town of the Hivites and the Canaanites. Finally, they went to Beersheba in the Southern Desert of Judah. ⁸ So when they had gone through all the land, they came to Jerusalem at the end of nine months and twenty days. ⁹ Then Joab gave the number of the counting of the people to the king. Israel was eight hundred thousand valiant warriors wielding the sword, and the men of Judah were five hundred thousand. ¹⁰ And David's heart killed him after he had numbered the people. And David said to the LORD, I have sinned greatly in what I have done, but now, O LORD, I beseech you, put away the iniquity of your servant, for I have done very foolishly. ¹¹ Before David arose the next morning, the word of the LORD came to Gad, David's seer: ¹² "Go tell David: 'This is what the LORD says: "I offer you three choices. Choose the one you want me to do to you."'" ¹³ So Gad went to David and asked him, "Shall seven years of famine come to your land, or three months of reversals while you flee from your enemies as they pursue you, or three days of pestilence in your land? Decide right now what I am to answer to the one who sent me." ¹⁴ And David said to Gad, I am in great distress. Let us fall now into the hand of the LORD, for His mercies are great. And do not let me fall into the hand of man. ¹⁵ So the LORD sent a pestilence on Israel from the morning even to the appointed time; and seventy thousand men died of the people from Dan even to Beersheba.

¹² either three years of famine, or three months to be swept away before your foes, while the sword of your enemies overtake you, or else three days of the sword of the LORD, even the plague in the land, and the angel of the LORD destroying throughout all the border of Israel. And now say what word I shall bring again to Him who sent me.

¹⁴ So the LORD sent a plague on Israel; and seventy thousand men of Israel fell.

²⁴ Joab the son of Zeruiah began to count, but he did not finish. But wrath came upon Israel concerning this, and the number was not included in the chronicles of King David.

⁶ So the king called Jehoiada the chief, and he said to him, "Why have you not required the Levites to bring from Judah and Jerusalem the tax of Moses, the servant of the LORD, and of the assembly of Israel for the tent of the testimony?"

²⁴ to be gracious to him and say: 'Spare him from going down to the pit. I have found a ransom for him!'

¹⁸ "Be careful that no one entices you by riches. Do not let a large bribe turn you aside.

⁷ A man cannot at all redeem a brother, nor give to God a ransom for him,

²⁸ just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

⁴⁵ For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

⁶ who gave himself as a ransom for allthe testimony given at the proper time.

¹⁸ For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life you inherited from your forefathers, ¹⁹ but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or spot.

¹¹ For the life of the flesh is in the blood; and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that makes atonement by reason of the life.

³ David asked the Gibeonites, "What am I to do for you? And how shall I make atonement so that you will bless the LORD's heritage?"

¹⁹ who does not respect the persons of rulers, nor regards the rich more than the poor. For they all are the work of his hands.

² The rich and the poor have this in common: The LORD is the maker of them all.

⁹ And masters, do the same for your slaves. Give up your use of threats, because you know that He who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with Him.

²⁵ (But he who does wrong will be repaid for this wrong, and there is no favoritism.)

¹⁴ And this day shall be for a memorial to you; and you shall keep it a feast to the Lord in your generations, with an everlasting observance.

The total numbered 603,550 bekas. ²⁷ One hundred talents of silver were used to cast the sockets for the sanctuary and the sockets for the curtain, 100 sockets for 100 talents, a talent per socket. ²⁸ And with 1,775 talents he made hooks for the pillars, overlaid their tops, and made bands for them. ²⁹ The bronze from the wave offering totaled 70 talents and 2,400 shekels. ³⁰ He used this to make the bases for the entrance to the tent of meeting, the copper altar with its copper grate and all its accessories, ³¹ the bases all around the courtyard, the bases for the entrance to the courtyard, all the pegs for the tent, and all the pegs for the surrounding courtyard.

⁴⁰ He followed the LORD's command given through Moses. The copper-covered altar will remind Israel that no one but a descendant of Aaron may come near to burn incense to the LORD. Everyone else will die like Korah and his followers.

³² And we have appointed for ourselves commands, to put on ourselves the third of a shekel in a year, for the service of the house of our God, ³³ for the bread set out on the table, for the continual grain offering, for the continual burnt offering, for the Sabbath offerings, for the new moon festivals, for the appointed feasts, for the holy offerings, for the sin offerings to make atonement for Israel, and for all the service of the temple of our God.

¹⁹ And He took the bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body, given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”

⁹ the altar for burnt offerings and all its accessories, the basin with its stand,

⁸ He made the bronze basin and its bronze base from mirrors contributed by the women who served in the doorway of the Tent of Meeting.

⁷ You shall put the basin between the Tent of Meeting and the altar and put water in it.

³⁰ He put the basin between the Tent of Meeting and the altar, and put water in it for washing. ³¹ Moses, Aaron, and his sons used this water to wash their hands and feet. ³² They washed when they went into the tent of meeting and when they came near to the altar, as the LORD commanded Moses.

¹¹ And he spattered part of it on the altar seven times—thus he anointed the altar and all of its utensils, and the basin and its stand, to consecrate them.

²³ And he works a poured sea, ten cubits lip to lip all around and five cubits high: and a line of thirty cubits surround it all around:

³⁸ He also made ten bronze basins, each holding forty baths; each basin was four cubits, one basin on each of the ten stands.

² And he cast a sea of melted bronze, ten cubits from brim to brim. It was round, and five cubits was its height. And a line of thirty cubits went around it.

⁶ He also made ten basins, and put five on the right hand, and five on the left, to wash in them. The things that belonged to the burnt offering were washed in them; but the sea was for the priests to wash in.

¹⁴ the ten stands with their ten basins; ¹⁵ one pool and the twelve bulls under it,

¹ " 'On that day a well will be opened for the house of David and for the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to cleanse them from sin and from impurity.

⁵ he saved us, not by deeds of righteousness that we have done, but because of his mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit,

⁷ But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

⁶ I will wash my hands in innocence: so will I go about your altar, O LORD:

¹¹ Get out of her my people! Touch no unclean thing! Come out from it and be pure, you who carry the vessels of the LORD.

⁸ Peter said to Him, You shall never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, Unless I wash you, you have no part with Me. ⁹ “Then, Lord,” Simon Peter replied, “not only my feet, but my hands and my head as well!” ¹⁰ Jesus said to him, "He who has bathed needs only to wash his feet, but is completely clean; and you are clean, but not every one of you."

⁹ Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who submit to or perform homosexual acts, ¹⁰ nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. ¹¹ And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

¹⁰ They consist only in food and drink and special washings—external regulations imposed until the time of reform.

²² let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

⁵ and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, ⁶ and has made us a kingdom and priests to his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

¹⁵ "You will eat unleavened bread for seven days. The first day you shall remove leaven from your houses. Whoever eats anything leavened from the first day until the seventh day will be cut off from Israel.

¹ And the two sons of Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, each took his censer and put fire in it, and laid incense on it, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he had not commanded them. ² And fire went out from before the LORD and consumed them; and they died before the LORD. ³ Therefore Moses said to Aaron, "This is what the LORD spoke, saying, 'Among those who are close to me I will show myself holy, and in the presence of all the people I will display my glory.'" So Aaron was silent.

¹ The LORD spoke to Moses, after the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they drew near before the LORD, and died; ² And the LORD said to Moses, "Tell your brother Aaron that he should not enter at any time into the sanctuary behind the curtain in front of the atonement cover that is on the ark, so that he might not die, because I appear in the cloud over the atonement cover.

¹⁹ He struck seventy men among the men of Beth Shemesh because they looked into the ark of the LORD. So the people mourned because the LORD had struck a great blow among the people.

¹⁰ the LORD's anger burned against Uzzah. He struck him down because he had put his hand on the Ark. So he died there before God.

⁷ a God very awesome in the council of the holy ones and to be feared above all those who are all around him?

⁵ On hearing these words, Ananias fell down and died. And great fear came over all who heard what had happened.

¹⁰ At that instant she fell down at his feet and died. Then the young men came in and found her dead. So they carried her out and buried her beside her husband.

²⁸ Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and offer to God acceptable worship with reverence and awe, ²⁹ for our God is a consuming fire.

²¹ "Keep the lamps lit in the tent of meeting outside the canopy where the words of my covenant are. Aaron and his descendants must keep the lamps lit in the LORD's presence from evening until morning. This is a long lasting law among the Israelites for generations to come.

⁴³ They shall be on Aaron and his sons when they enter the Tent of Meeting or when they approach the altar to minister in the Holy Place so they don't incur guilt and die. This shall be a perpetual ordinance for him and his descendants after him."

²⁹ And he made the holy anointing oil, and the pure fragrant incense,—the work of a perfumer.

⁸ All your robes are scented with myrrh and aloes and cassia. From palaces of ivory stringed instruments gladden you.

¹⁷ I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.

³ Because of the fragrance of your good ointments your name is as ointment poured forth, therefore do the virgins love you.

¹³ My beloved is to me a sachet of myrrh, that lies between my breasts.

¹⁴ spikenard and saffron, calamus and cinnamon, with every kind of incense tree; myrrh and aloes, with all the best spices,

²⁰ "What purpose does frankincense come to me from Sheba and the sweet cane from a distant land? Your burnt offerings are not acceptable and your sacrifices are not pleasing to me."

¹⁹ Dedan also and Javan going to and fro traded in your wares: wrought iron, cassia, and calamus, were in your market.

²² The merchants of Sheba and Raamah, they were thy merchants: they occupied in thy fairs with chief of all spices, and with all precious stones, and gold.

⁴⁰ and with the one lamb a tenth part of an ephah of fine flour mixed with the fourth part of a hin of beaten oil, and the fourth part of a hin of wine for a drink offering.

³⁶ "'Use honest scales, honest weights, and honest measures. I am the LORD your God who brought you out of Egypt.

⁵ "With each sheep or goat for the burnt offering or any other sacrifice, also give an offering of one quart of wine.

⁹ You shall take the anointing oil and anoint the tabernacle and all that is in it. You shall consecrate it and all its furnishings and it will be holy.

²⁵ »If you are innocent, the community must protect you from that relative. They must take you back to the city of refuge you fled to. You must live there until the death of the chief priest who was anointed with the holy oil.

³⁰ But some of the priests took care of mixing the spices.

²⁰ I have found David my servant. With my holy oil I have anointed him,

² It is like the precious oil upon the head, coming down upon the beard, Aaron's beard, coming down upon the edge of his robes.

⁹ You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, Your God, has placed You above Your companions by anointing You with the oil of joy.”

⁹ You shall take the anointing oil and anoint the tabernacle and all that is in it. You shall consecrate it and all its furnishings and it will be holy. ¹⁰ "You shall anoint the altar for burnt offerings and all its utensils. You shall consecrate the altar and the altar will be most holy. ¹¹ And anoint the wash-basin and its foot, and consecrate it ¹² Then you shall bring Aaron and his sons to the doorway of the Tent of Meeting, and wash them with water. ¹³ »Dress Aaron in the priestly garments and anoint him. Consecrate him so that he can serve me as priest. ¹⁴ "Bring his sons and put the shirts on them. ¹⁵ "Anoint them just as you anointed their father that they can serve me as priests. This anointing will make them priests for generations to come."

¹⁰ Then Moses took the anointing oil and anointed the tabernacle and all that was in it, and he consecrated them. ¹¹ And he spattered part of it on the altar seven times—thus he anointed the altar and all of its utensils, and the basin and its stand, to consecrate them. ¹² He poured some of the anointing oil on Aaron's head, and anointed him, to sanctify him.

¹ Moses finished setting up the tent. He anointed it and dedicated it and all the furnishings. He also anointed and dedicated the altar and all the utensils.

¹⁰ And the princes offered for the dedication of the altar on the day when it was anointed, their oblation before the altar.

¹ The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me; because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the humble. He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to those who are bound;

³⁸ how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, because God was with Him.

²¹ Now it is God who establishes both us and you in Christ. He anointed us, ²² placed His seal on us, and put His Spirit in our hearts as a pledge of what is to come.

²⁰ But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all know the truth.

²⁷ And as for you, the anointing which you received from him remains in you, and you do not have need that anyone teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you reside in him.

³⁷ You shall make atonement for the altar for seven days and consecrate it. It will be most holy, and whatever touches it will be holy."

¹⁸ Every male among Aaron's sons may eat it as a lasting rule among your generations from the offerings made by fire ⌊belonging to⌋ the LORD. Anything that touches them will become holy.'"

¹⁷ You blind fools! Which is greater: the gold, or the temple that makes it sacred?

¹⁹ You blind men! For which is greater, the gift or the altar that makes the gift sacred?

³ "Tell all the skilled men whom I have given this ability to make Aaron's clothes. These clothes will set him apart as holy when he serves me as priest.

⁷ Then take the oil and put it on his head. ⁸ And bring his sons and put albes upon them, ⁹ And you will gird Aaron and his sons with sashes and wrap headdresses on them. And priesthood will be theirs as a lasting rule, and you will ordain Aaron and his sons. ¹⁰ "You shall bring the bull in front of the Tent of Meeting, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on the head of the bull. ¹¹ You shall kill the bull before Yahweh at the door of the Tent of Meeting. ¹² Take some of the blood of the bull, put it on the horns of the altar with your finger, and pour out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar. ¹³ "Take all the fat that covers the internal organs, the lobe of the liver, and the two kidneys with the fat on them, and burn them on the altar. ¹⁴ You shall burn the flesh of the bull, its hide, and its refuse with fire outside the camp. It is a sin offering. ¹⁵ "Take one of the rams and Aaron and his sons are to put their hands on its head. ¹⁶ "Slaughter the ram. Take its blood and sprinkle it all around the altar. ¹⁷ "Cut the ram in pieces. Wash its internal organs and its legs, and put them on top of the head and the other pieces. ¹⁸ You shall burn the whole ram on the altar: it is a burnt offering to the LORD; it is a pleasant aroma, an offering made by fire to the LORD. ¹⁹ Take the other ram and Aaron and his sons are to put their hands on its head. ²⁰ "Kill it and take some of its blood and put it on the lobes of the right ears of Aaron and his sons, on the thumbs of their right hands and on the big toes of their right feet. Sprinkle the rest of the blood all around the altar. ²¹ »Take some of the blood that is on the altar and some of the anointing oil, and sprinkle it on Aaron and his clothes and on his sons and their clothes. He, his sons, and their clothes will then be dedicated to me. ²² And you will take from the ram the fat and the fat tail and the fat covering the inner parts and the lobe of the liver and the two kidneys and the fat that is on them and the right thigh, because it is the ram of ordination. ²³ And one cake made with oil, and one cake from the basket of unleavened bread set forth before the Lord. ²⁴ "Put all this food in the hands of Aaron and his sons and have them dedicate it to me as a special gift. ²⁵ You shall take them from their hands, and burn them on the altar on the burnt offering, for a pleasant aroma before the LORD: it is an offering made by fire to the LORD. ²⁶ "You shall take the breast of the ram of Aaron's ordination, and present it as a wave offering before the LORD, and it shall be your portion. ²⁷ You shall consecrate the portion of the ram of ordination that belongs to Aaron and his sons: the breast of the wave offering that was waved and the thigh of the presented offering that was presented. ²⁸ And it will be for Aaron and for his sons as a lasting rule from the Israelites, because it is a contribution, and it will be a contribution from the Israelites from their sacrifices of fellowship, their contribution to the LORD. ²⁹ "The holy garments of Aaron shall be for his sons after him so that they may be anointed in them and ordained in them. ³⁰ The priest his successor from among his sons who shall go into the tabernacle of witness to minister in the holies, shall put them on seven days. ³¹ And you will take the ram of ordination and boil its meat in a holy place. ³² Aaron and his sons shall eat the meat of the ram, and the bread that is in the basket, at the door of the Tent of Meeting. ³³ "They shall eat those things used for their atonement and their ordination and consecration. A layman shall not eat them, because they are holy. ³⁴ »If any of the flesh of ordination or any of the bread remains until morning it should be burned with fire. It should not be eaten because it is holy. ³⁵ "Do to Aaron and to his sons all that I have commanded you. Ordain them for seven days.

¹⁵ "Anoint them just as you anointed their father that they can serve me as priests. This anointing will make them priests for generations to come."

¹² He poured some of the anointing oil on Aaron's head, and anointed him, to sanctify him.

³⁰ Then Moses took some of the anointing oil, and some of the blood which was by the altar, and sprinkled them on Aaron and his robes, and on his sons and their robes with him. And when he had hallowed Aaron and his robes, and his sons and their robes with him,

³ These are the names of Aaron's sons, the anointed priests, who were ordained to serve as priests.

¹⁰ And the high priest among his brothers, on whose head the anointing oil was poured and who is consecrated to put on the garments, shall not uncover his head nor tear his clothes.

²⁵ You shall make them into a holy anointing oil, a perfume mixture made by a perfumer. It shall be a holy anointing oil.

³⁷ "Do not make any incense for yourselves using this formula. Treat it as holy to the LORD. ³⁸ Whoever makes any like it, for its sweet smell, will be cut off from his people.

⁶ Do not give dogs what is holy; do not throw your pearls before swine. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces.

¹⁴ "Any male not circumcised in the flesh will be cut off from his people. He has broken my covenant."

¹⁹ For seven days yeast must not be found in your houses, because anyone eating food with yeast will be cut off from the community of Israel—whether an alien or a native of the land.

³³ "They shall eat those things used for their atonement and their ordination and consecration. A layman shall not eat them, because they are holy.

³⁸ Whoever makes any like it, for its sweet smell, will be cut off from his people.

²⁰ But he who is unclean when he takes as food the flesh of the peace-offerings, which are the Lord's, will be cut off from his people. ²¹ And when a person touches anything unclean, whether human uncleanness or an unclean animal or any unclean detestable thing, and he eats from the meat of the fellowship offerings' sacrifice, which is for the LORD, then that person shall be cut off from his people.'"

⁴ and doth not bring it to the entrance of the tent of meeting to present it as an offering to the LORD, before the tabernacle of the LORD, blood shall be reckoned unto that man: he hath shed blood; and that man shall be cut off from among his people,

⁹ and does not bring it to the door of the tent of meeting, to sacrifice it to the LORD, that man will be cut off from his people.

⁸ "'Those who eat it will be punished because they have dishonored what is holy to the LORD. They must be excluded from the people.

²⁹ Every soul who shall not humble himself on that day, shall be cut off from among his people.

¹³ But the man who is clean and not on a journey, and he fails to observe the Passover, that person will be cut off from the people because he did not present the offering of Yahweh on its appointed time. That man will bear his guilt.

¹ In the meantime, a crowd of many thousands had gathered, so that they were trampling one another. Jesus began to speak first to His disciples: “Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. ² There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known.

²⁶ If we deliberately go on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no further sacrifice for sins remains, ²⁷ but only a terrifying prospect of judgment and a raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. ²⁸ Anyone who rejected the Law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. ²⁹ How much more severely do you think one deserves to be punished who has trampled on the Son of God, profaned the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and insulted the Spirit of grace?

⁶ oil for the light, spices for the anointing oil and for the sweet incense,

²³ "You shall take for yourself the finest spices: 500 shekels of liquid myrrh, half as much fragrant cinnamon (250 shekels), 250 shekels of fragrant reeds,

¹ "'When anyone offers a grain offering to the LORD, his offering shall be of fine flour; and he shall pour oil on it, and put frankincense on it.

¹⁵ "'Put oil and incense on it. It is a grain offering.

¹¹ And if he cannot afford a pair of turtle-doves, or two young pigeons, then shall he bring as his gift for his sin, the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a sin-offering; he shall not pour oil upon it, nor shall he put frankincense upon it, because it is a sin-offering.

⁷ And you shall put pure frankincense on each row, so that it may be on the bread for a memorial, a fire offering to the LORD.

²⁹ Others were assigned to take care of the furnishings and all the other articles of the sanctuary, as well as the flour and wine, and the oil, incense and spices. ³⁰ But some of the priests took care of mixing the spices.

⁵ prepared for Tobiah a large chamber where they had formerly put the grain offering, the frankincense, the temple objects, tithes of grain, wine, and oil commanded for the Levites, the singers, the gatekeepers, and the offerings of the priests.

⁶ What is this coming up from the desert like a column of smoke, perfumed with myrrh and frankincense from all the fragrant powders of the merchant?

¹¹ On coming into the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they fell down and worshipped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, and of frankincense, and of myrrh.

¹³ "'Season every grain offering with salt. Do not leave the salt of the covenant of your God out of your grain offering. All of your offerings must have salt.

⁹ Perfume and incense will gladden a heart, and the pleasantness of one's friend is ⌊personal advice⌋.

³ Then Mary took a pound of pure spikenard, very costly, and poured it over his feet, and wiped his feet with her hair, and the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.

³⁴ As the Lord commanded Moses so Aaron laid it up before the testimony that it might be kept.

²² "I will be above the throne of mercy between the angels whenever I meet with you. I will give you all my commandments for the Israelites.

⁶ You shall put the altar in front of the curtain that is over the Ark of the Testimony, in front of the Mercy Seat that is over the Testimony where I'll meet with you.

³ The remainder of the grain offering belongs to Aaron and to his sons—it is a most holy thing from the offerings made by fire for the LORD.
