Each man had to make provision for a month in the year. 8 These are their names: Ben Hur, in the hill country of Ephraim; 9 Ben Deker, in Makaz, in Shaalbim, Beth Shemesh, and Elon Beth Hanan; 10 Ben-Hesed was in the Arubbot; Socoh and all the land of Hepher were his. 11 Ben Abinadab, in all the height of Dor (he had Taphath the daughter of Solomon as wife); 12 Baana the son of Ahilud, in Taanach and Megiddo, and all Beth Shean which is beside Zarethan, beneath Jezreel, from Beth Shean to Abel Meholah, as far as beyond Jokmeam; 13 Ben-Geber, in Ramoth-Gilead, has the small towns of Jair son of Manasseh, which [are] in Gilead; he has a portion of Argob that [is] in Bashan, sixty great cities [with] wall and brazen bar. 14 Ahinadab son of Iddo [has] Mahanaim. 15 Ahimaaz, in Naphtali (he also took Basemath the daughter of Solomon as wife); 16 Baana, son of Hushai in Asher and in Aloth: 17 Jehoshaphat son of Paruah in Issachar: 18 Shimei son of Ela, in Benjamin; 19 Geber the son of Uri, in the land of Gilead, the country of Sihon king of the Amorites and of Og king of Bashan; and he was the only officer who was in the land.

1 And as for the number of the Israelites, the heads of families, the commanders of thousands and hundreds, and their officials who serve the king in all matters of the working groups that came and went, month by month, throughout all the months of the year, each working group: twenty-four thousand. 2 And over the first division for the first month was Isboaz son of Zabdiel; over his division of twenty four thousand. 3 He was a descendant of Perez, and he was head of all of the army's officers for the first month. 4 And over the division of the second month was Dodai the Ahohite, and his division. And Mikloth [was] the ruler. And in his division were twenty-four thousand. 5 The ruler of the third host, for the third month, was Benaiah, son of Jehoiada the priest—a chief,—and, in his course, were twenty-four thousand. 6 This is that Benaiah, who was mighty among the thirty, and was over the thirty: and in his division was Ammizabad his son. 7 The fourth, for the fourth month, was Asahel the brother of Joab and his son Zebadiah after him. And he was over his working group of twenty-four thousand. 8 The fifth, for the fifth month, [is] the prince Shamhuth the Izrahite, and on his course [are] twenty and four thousand. 9 The sixth for the sixth month was Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite: and in his division were twenty-four thousand. 10 The seventh, for the seventh month, was Helez the Pelonite, of the sons of Ephraim,—and, in his course, were twenty-four thousand. 11 The eighth for the eighth month was Sibbecai, the Hushathite, of Zarhi; and in his course were twenty-four thousand. 12 The ninth, for the ninth month, was Abiezer the Anathothite, of the Benjamites,—and, in his course, were twenty-four thousand. 13 The tenth for the tenth month was Maharai, the Netophathite of Zarhi; and in his course were twenty-four thousand. 14 The eleventh, for the eleventh month, was Benaiah the Pirathonite, of the sons of Ephraim,—and, in his course, were twenty-four thousand. 15 The twelfth, for the twelfth month, was Heldai the Netophathite, of Othniel,—and, in his course, were twenty-four thousand.
