³ And Naboth said to Ahab, My God forbid me that I should give you the inheritance of my fathers.

⁷ And they said to him, Why does my lord say such words as these? far be it from your servants to do such a thing:

¹⁷ Then he said, Far be it from me to do so: but the man who had my cup will be my servant; and you may go back to your father in peace.

²³ And the land shall not be sold in perpetuity; for the land is Mine; for you are aliens and tenants with Me.

⁷ So shall no inheritance of the children of Israel move from tribe to tribe; for the children of Israel shall all keep the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers.

²⁹ Far be it from us to rebel against the LORD, to turn today from following the LORD, to build an altar for burnt offerings, grain offerings, or sacrifices, instead of the altar of the LORD our God that is before his tabernacle."

¹⁶ And the people answer and say, `Far be it from us to forsake the LORD, to serve other gods;

²³ Now as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the LORD by ceasing to pray for you. I'll also instruct you in the way that is good and right.

⁶ And he said to his men, the LORD forbid that I should do this thing to my master, the LORD`s anointed, to stretch forth my hand against him, for he is the anointed of the LORD.

⁹ But David said to Abishai, "Destroy him not — for who can lay his hand on the LORD's anointed and be guiltless?" ¹⁰ As the LORD lives, the LORD will strike him down, or his time will come to die, or he will go into battle and perish. ¹¹ The LORD forbid that I should raise my hand against the LORD's anointed. Now take the spear that is at his head and the jug of water, and let's go."

¹⁹ And he said, My God forbid it me, that I should do this thing! should I drink the blood of these men [who went] at the risk of their lives? for at the risk of their lives they brought it. Therefore he would not drink it. These things did the three mighty men.

⁴ Absolutely not! Let God be true and every man a liar. As it is written: “So that You may be justified in Your words, and prevail in Your judgments.”

⁶ Certainly not! For then how could God judge the world?

³¹ Do we, then, nullify the Law by this faith? By no means! Instead, we uphold the Law.

² Certainly not! When we have died to sin, how can we live in it any longer?

¹⁵ What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law, but under grace? By no means!

⁷ What shall we say, then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! Indeed, I would not have known what sin was except through the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, "You shall not covet."

¹³ Did that which is good, then, become death to me? Certainly not! But in order that sin might be exposed as sin, it produced death in me through what was good, so that through the commandment sin might become utterly sinful.

¹⁵ Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never!

¹⁴ But as for me, may I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
