²⁵ Nadab the son of Jeroboam began to reign over Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah; and he reigned over Israel two years. ²⁶ He did evil in the eyes of the LORD, and he walked in the way of his father and in his sin that he caused Israel to commit. ²⁷ Baasha the son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him; and Baasha struck him at Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines; for Nadab and all Israel were besieging Gibbethon. ²⁸ Baasha killed him in the third year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned in his stead. ²⁹ As soon as he was king, he struck all the house of Jeroboam. He didn’t leave to Jeroboam any who breathed, until he had destroyed him; according to the saying of the LORD, which he spoke by his servant Ahijah the Shilonite; ³⁰ because of the sins of Jeroboam which he sinned, and that he caused Israel to sin by his provocation with which he provoked the LORD the God of Israel to anger.

¹¹ It happened, when he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, that he struck all the house of Baasha: he didn't leave him a single male, neither of his relatives, nor of his friends.

²¹ 'Look, I am bringing disaster on you, and I will sweep away after you. I will cut off for Ahab every male in Israel, bond or free.

⁸ For the whole house of Ahab shall perish: and I will cut off from Ahab every male, bond and free that is left in Israel: ⁹ and will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah.

³⁷ And the carcase of Jezebel shall be as dung upon the face of the field in the portion of Jezreel so that no one shall be able to say, This is Jezebel.

²⁵ Therefore the LORD's anger burns against his people, and he has stretched out his hand against them, and has struck them. The mountains tremble, and their dead bodies are as refuse in the midst of the streets. For all this, his anger is not turned away, but his hand is still stretched out.

¹⁹ But you are thrown from your grave like a despised branch, like the covering of the slain, those pierced by the sword, those who go down into the stones of the Pit, like a dead body trampled under foot.

²³ "And I will make her a possession of the hedgehog, and pools of water, and I will sweep her away with the broom of destruction," declares the LORD Almighty.

² They'll be spread out to the sun, the moon, and all the stars of the heavens, which they loved and served, and which they followed, consulted, and worshiped. Their bones won't be collected, nor will they be buried. They'll be like dung on the surface of the ground.

⁴ "'They will destroy the walls of Tyre and break down her towers. I will scrape her debris from her and make her a bare rock.

⁶ "Will the trumpet be blown in a city and the people not be afraid? Will disaster happen to a city and the LORD not cause it?

¹⁷ I will bring distress on men, that they will walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD, and their blood will be poured out like dust, and their flesh like dung.

³ Look! I'm rebuking your descendants because of you, and I'll spread waste on your faces, the waste of your festival sacrifices, and you will be carried off with it.

³⁴ "Salt is good. But if it loses its saltiness it cannot be made salty again. ³⁵ It is fit neither for the soil nor for the manure pile. It is thrown out. He who has ears to hear, let him hear."
