¹⁹ You will say then unto me, Why does he yet find fault? For who has resisted his will?

²⁰ But as for you, all of you thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

⁶ And said, O LORD God of our fathers, are not you God in heaven? and rule not you over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in your hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand you?

¹² Behold, he takes away, who can hinder him? who will say unto him, What do you? ¹³ If God will not withdraw his anger, the proud helpers do stoop under him. ¹⁴ How much less shall I answer him, and choose out my words to reason with him? ¹⁵ Whom, though I were righteous, yet would I not answer, but I would make supplication to my judge.

¹⁹ If I speak of strength, lo, he is strong: and if of judgment, who shall set me a time to plead?

¹³ But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? and what his soul desires, even that he does. ¹⁴ For he performs the thing that is appointed for me: and many such things are with him.

¹⁰ Surely the wrath of man shall praise you: the remainder of wrath shall you restrain.

⁶ I will send him against an hypocritical nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets. ⁷ Nevertheless he means not so, neither does his heart think so; but it is in his heart to destroy and cut off nations not a few.

¹⁰ Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: ¹¹ Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executes my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.

³⁵ And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he does according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What do you?

²¹ The Son of man indeed goes, as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had never been born.

²³ Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, all of you have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

²⁷ For truthfully against your holy child Jesus, whom you have anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together, ²⁸ In order to do whatsoever your hand and your counsel determined before to be done.

⁵ But if our unrighteousness commend the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who takes vengeance? (I speak as a man) ⁶ God forbid: for then how shall God judge the world? ⁷ For if the truth of God has more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner? ⁸ And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just.

¹⁹ You will say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in.

¹² Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?

³⁵ But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come?

¹³ Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempts he any man:
