³⁷ But let your communication (o. logos) be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these comes of evil.

¹³ And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For your is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

¹⁹ When any one hears the word (o. logos) of the kingdom, and understands it not, then comes the wicked one, and catches away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.

³⁸ The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;

¹⁹ For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

⁴⁴ All of you are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father all of you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

¹⁵ I pray not that you should take them out of the world, but that you should keep them from the evil.

¹⁷ When I therefore was thus minded, did I use levity? or the things that I purpose, do I purpose according to the flesh, that with me there should be yea yea, and nay nay? ¹⁸ But as God is true, our word (o. logos) toward you was not yea and nay. ¹⁹ For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, even by me and Silvanus and Timotheus, was not yea and nay, but in him was yea. ²⁰ For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

²⁵ Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.

⁹ Lie not one to another, seeing that all of you have put off the old man with his deeds;

⁶ Let your (o. logos) speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that all of you may know how all of you ought to answer every man.

³ But the Lord is faithful, who shall establish you, and keep you from evil.

¹² But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest all of you fall into condemnation.

¹³ I write unto you, fathers, because all of you have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because all of you have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because all of you have known the Father.

¹² Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.

¹⁸ We know that whosoever is born of God sins not; but he that is begotten of God keeps himself, and that wicked one touches him not.
