²⁹ But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?

³⁴ But the stranger that dwells with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and you shall love him as yourself; for all of you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.

¹⁵ And he said unto them, All of you are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knows your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

⁹ And he spoke this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: ¹⁰ Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. ¹¹ The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank you, that I am not as other men are, extortionists, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.

² For if Abraham were justified by works, he has whereof to glory; but not before God.

³ For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

¹¹ But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

²⁴ All of you see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
