¹⁶ And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things behind; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise.

⁵ Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off. ⁶ Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keeps the sabbath from polluting it, and takes hold of my covenant; ⁷ Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people. ⁸ The Lord GOD, which gathers the outcasts of Israel says, Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him. ⁹ All you beasts of the field, come to devour, yea, all you beasts in the forest. ¹⁰ His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber. ¹¹ Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.

¹¹ Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, says the LORD.

⁷ He is a merchant, the balances of deceit are in his hand: he loves to oppress. ⁸ And Ephraim said, Yet I am become rich, I have found me out substance: in all my labours they shall find none iniquity in me that were sin.

¹³ And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but all of you have made it a den of thieves.

¹⁷ And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but all of you have made it a den of thieves.

⁴⁹ And he said unto them, How is it that all of you sought me? know all of you not that I must be about my Father's business?

¹⁷ But Jesus answered them, My Father works until now, and I work.

⁴⁹ Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honour my Father, and all of you do dishonour me.

²⁹ My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

⁵ Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw yourself.

³ And through covetousness shall they with feigned words (o. logos) make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingers not, and their damnation slumbers not.

¹⁴ Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children: ¹⁵ Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;
