²³ Then Jesus looked round, and said to his disciples: "How hard it will be for men of wealth to enter the Kingdom of God!"

³ "I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven at all.

²³ At this, Jesus said to his disciples: "I tell you that a rich man will find it hard to enter the Kingdom of Heaven! ²⁴ I say again, it is easier for a camel to get through a needle's eye than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven!" ²⁵ On hearing this, the disciples exclaimed in great astonishment: "Who then can possibly be saved?" ²⁶ But Jesus looked at them, and said: "With men this is impossible, but with God everything is possible." Then Peter turned and said to Jesus:

⁵ As they remained silent, Jesus looked round at them in anger, grieving at the hardness of their hearts, and said to the man: "Stretch out your hand." The man stretched it out; and his hand had become sound.

³² But Jesus looked about to see who had done it.

¹⁵ I tell you, unless a man receives the Kingdom of God like a child, he will not enter it at all."

²⁴ Seeing this, Jesus said to his disciples: "How hard it is for men of wealth to enter the Kingdom of God!

⁵ "In truth I tell you," answered Jesus, "unless a man owes his birth to Water and Spirit, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God.

²⁶ Look at the facts of your Call, Brothers. There are not many among you who are wise, as men reckon wisdom, not many who are influential, not many who are high-born;

⁵ Listen, my dear Brothers. Has not God chosen those who are poor in the things of this world to be rich through their faith, and to possess the Kingdom which he has promised to those who love him?

⁴ Unfaithful people! Do not you know that to be friends with the world means to be at enmity with God? Therefore whoever chooses to be friends with the world makes himself an enemy to God.

¹¹ For thus you will be given a triumphant admission into the eternal Kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
