⁴ John to the seven congregations which are in Asia; favour be to you, and peace from him who is, and who was, and who is to come; and from the seven spirits which are before his throne;

¹⁴ On which God spoke to Moses saying, I am The I Am. Moreover he said, Thus shalt thou say to the children of Israel, The I Am hath sent me to you.

² Before the mountains were brought forth; or the earth or the world was formed: even from everlasting to everlasting thou existest.

²⁵ Thou Lord, in the beginning didst lay the foundations of the earth; and the heavens are the work of thy hands. ²⁶ They shall perish; but thou wilt endure: they shall all wax old like a garment; and like a mantle thou wilt fold them up and they shall be changed: ²⁷ but as for thee, thou art the same; and thy years shall have no end.

² and the spirit of God will rest upon him; a spirit of wisdom and understanding; a spirit of counsel and majesty; a spirit of knowledge and piety:

⁴ Who hath performed and done these things? He who called that righteousness; who from the generations of the beginning is calling it I God the First, and to the succeeding ages, THE I AM.

¹⁵ Thus saith the Most High, who on earth inhabiteth eternity, who is Holy among holies; whose name is THE MOST HIGH; who at rest in the holies giveth patience to the humble, and life to them who are of a contrite heart;

² But as for thee, Bethlehem, thou house of Ephratha, art thou too little to be one of the chiliads of Juda? Out of thee one shall come forth for me to be the chief of Israel. His goings forth have been from the beginning; from the days of an age.

⁹ since with regard to that stone which I have set before Jesus, upon that one stone there are seven eyes; behold I am digging a pit saith the Lord Almighty, and I will feel all the iniquity of this land in one day.

¹⁰ since a certain person hath despised these as small days,] that those seven eyes will be gladdened, when they shall see the plumb line in the hand of Zorobabel; they are the eyes which survey the whole earth.

⁵ And the angel who was talking with me answered and said, These are the four winds of heaven. They are going out to wait on the Lord of the whole earth.

¹ In the beginning was the Word; and the Word was with God; and the Word was God.

¹⁰ And this he continued to do for the space of two years, so that all the inhabitants of Asia, both Jews and Greeks, heard the word of the Lord Jesus.

⁷ to all who are at Rome, beloved of God, called and consecrated; favour be to you, and peace from God our father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

⁴ Now, there are diversities of gifts, but the same spirit; ⁵ and there are diversities of offices, but the same Lord; ⁶ and there are diversities of energies, but it is the same God who by his inward operation worketh all these effects in all. ⁷ Now, this manifestation of the spirit is given to every one for that which is profitable. ⁸ For to one is given, by the spirit, a word of wisdom; and to another, a word of knowledge according to the same spirit; ⁹ and to another, faith, by the same spirit; and to another, gifts of healing, by the same spirit; ¹⁰ and to another, mighty powers of working miracles; and to another, the gift of prophecy; and to another, that of discerning spirits; and to another, divers languages; and to another, the interpretation of languages. ¹¹ Now, it is one and the same spirit who effecteth all these, distributing his own as he pleaseth, to every one. ¹² For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body; so also is the Christ. ¹³ For by one spirit we are all baptized to one body, whether we were Jews or Greeks, slaves, or freemen; and have all been made to drink to one spirit.

² Favour be to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁰ Again, "Thou, Lord, in the beginning didst lay the foundation of the earth, And the heavens are the work of thy hand. ¹¹ They shall perish, but thou wilt endure. They shall all wax old like a garment, ¹² And like a mantle thou wilt fold them up and they shall be changed :But as for thee, thou art the same And thy years shall have no end". ¹³ And to which of these messengers did he ever say, "Sit at my right hand till I make thine enemies thy footstool."

⁸ Be not led away by various and strange doctrines, for it is better to have the heart strengthened with favour than with meats which have not profited those versed in them.

¹⁷ Every good donation, and every perfect gift, is from above, and cometh down from the father of lights, with whom there is no change, nor shadow of turning. 18 Of his own will he hath impregnated us with a word of truth, that we may be a kind of first fruits of his creatures.

¹ Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the sojourners of the dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia, ² whom God the Father, according to his predetermination hath chosen, that by a sanctification of spirit they may obey, and be sprinkled with the blood of Jesus Christ; favour be to you, and may peace be multiplied.

¹ A REVELATION of Jesus Christ, which God gave him, to shew to his servants things which must shortly come to pass, and which he sent by his angel, and signified to his servant John,

⁸ "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end," saith the Lord, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty."

¹¹ saying, "I am the Alpha and the Omega; the first and the last," and "what thou seest, write in a book, and send it to the seven congregations which are in Asia, to Ephesus and to Smyrna, and to Pergamus, and to Thyatira, and to Sardis, and to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea."

²⁰ With respect to the hidden meaning of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks; the seven stars are the angels of the seven congregations and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven congregations.

⁸ "And to the angel of the congregation at Smyrna write, "Thus saith the first and the last, who was dead and is alive,

¹² And to the angel of the congregation at Pergamus write, "Thus saith he who hath the sharp two edged sword,

¹⁸ And to the angel of the congregation at Thyatira write, "Thus saith the son of God, whose eyes are like a flame of fire, and whose feet fire like fine brass;

¹ And to the angel of the congregation at Sardis write, "Thus saith he, who hath the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. I know thy works, that thou hast the name of being alive, though thou art dead.

⁷ And to the angel of the congregation at Philadelphia write thus saith the Holy one and the True, who hath the key [the Son] of David, who openeth and none shutteth, and who shutteth and none openeth,

¹⁴ "And to the angel of the congregation of the Laodicians write, Thus saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God,

⁵ And from the throne proceed lightnings and thunders and voices. And there were seven lamps of fire blazing before the throne: these are the seven spirits of God.

⁸ And the four animate beings had, each of them six wings around and underneath they were full of eyes. And they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God, the Almighty, who was and who is and who is to come!

⁶ Then I looked and behold in the midst of the throne and of the four animate beings and in the midst of the elders stood a lamb as if it had been slaughtered, having seven horns and seven eyes which are the seven spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.
