¹ The word which came from the Lord to Jeremias after Nabusardan the chief cook, he who was of Rama, had dismissed him: When the chief cook found him in chains in the midst of the captives of Juda who were to be carried to Babylon,

²⁵ Gabaon, and Rama, and Beerotha,

¹⁷ And his return was to Armathaim; for his house was there. And there he judged Israel, and there he built an altar to the Lord.

⁶ God settleth the lonely in a family, having brought out with strength them who had been bound; in like manner them who were rebellious; them, whose habitation is now in tombs.

And touching Peter's side he roused him up, saying, Arise quickly. Upon which his chains dropped from his hands.

¹³ But Paul answered, Why make ye this ado, weeping and breaking my heart? As for me, I am ready, not only to be bound, but even to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

²⁰ For this cause, therefore, I have sent for you that I might see you and speak with you. For on account of the hope of Israel, I am bound with this chain.

²⁰ for which I am performing the office of an ambassador in a chain, that in this situation I may speak boldly as I ought to speak.
