²¹ for prophecy was not uttered in former days at the will of man; but the holy men of God spoke by an impulse of the holy spirit.

²⁸ And Moses said, By this you shall know that the Lord hath sent me to do all these works, and that they are not of myself;

¹ Now this is the blessing with which Moses, the man of God blessed the children of Israel, before his death;

⁶ Now the children of Juda had come to Joshua at Galgal, and Chaleb the son of Jephonne, the Kenezite said to him, Thou knowest the word which the Lord said to Moses, the man of God, respecting me and thee at Kades-barne;

² The Spirit of the Lord hath spoken by me, And his word was upon my tongue.

¹ behold a man of God from Juda came by a word of the Lord to Baithel while Jeroboam was standing on the altar to burn incense;

¹⁸ Upon which she said to Elias, What hast thou to do with me, man of God? Art thou come to me to bring my sins into remembrance and cause my son to die?

²⁴ Whereupon the woman said, Now I know that thou art a man of God, and that the word of the Lord in thy mouth is true.

⁷ Then she went and told the man of God, and Elisha said to her, Go and sell the oil and pay thy debts, and live thou and thy children on the oil which is left.

⁹ Whereupon the woman said to her husband, Behold I perceive that the man of God; this holy man passeth by us on all occasions,

²² and called her husband and said, Send me, I pray thee, one of the servants and one of the asses that I may go speedily to the man of God and return.

¹⁰ And when the king of Israel sent to the place which Elisha mentioned, and avoided it more than once or twice,

¹⁵ And when Elisha's servant arose early in the morning and went out, behold an army with horses and chariots surrounded the city, whereupon the servant said to him, my lord, what shall we do?

¹⁴ But as for Moses the man of God, his sons were classed in the tribe of Levi.

¹⁴ And according to the regulation of his father David, he appointed the courses of the priests according to their services; and the Levites were set to their charges to sing praises and to minister before the priests, as the duty of every day required; and the keepers of the gates were distributed into their classes for every gate. For so David, the man of God had commanded.

⁷ and the seers of dreams shall be put to shame; and the diviners shall be laughed to scorn, and reviled by all; for none will hearken to them.

³⁶ For David himself, by the Holy Spirit, said, "The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand until I make thine enemies thy footstool."

⁷⁰ [as he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets of old]

¹⁶ said, Men, brethren, It was necessary that this scripture should be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit predicted, by the mouth of David, concerning Judas who was guide to them who laid hold on Jesus;

¹⁸ and that what God foretold by the mouth of all his prophets; That The Christ Should Suffer, he hath thus accomplished.

²⁵ And being at variance among themselves they broke up, upon Paul's saying one word, that the holy spirit had spoken well to our fathers by the prophet Esaias,

¹⁵ and that, from thy childhood, thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise for salvation by trusting in Christ Jesus. ¹⁶ All scripture, given by divine inspiration, is indeed profitable for doctrine, for conviction, for reformation, for instruction in righteousness, ¹⁷ that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly fitted for every good work.

⁷ Wherefore as the Holy Spirit saith, "Today since you have heard his voice,

⁸ the Holy Spirit plainly shewing this, that the way into the holies was not yet manifested while that tabernacle hath a standing.

¹⁵ And this indeed the holy spirit testified! to us; for after saying,

¹¹ and search, trying to find to what time, and what manner of time, the spirit of Christ within them pointed, when it testified before hand the sufferings which were for Christ, and the glories which should succeed them:

¹⁰ Whereupon I fell down at his feet to worship him. And he saith to me, See thou do not. I am the fellow servant of thee and of thy brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God. For the spirit of this prophecy is the testimony of Jesus.
