Deuteronomy 2:4-5

4 and give thou a charge to this people, saying, You are about to march along by the borders of your brethren, the children of Esau who inhabit Seir. They will be afraid of you, and dread you exceedingly. 5 You must not come to battle with them; for I will not give you a foot of their land, because I have given mount Seir to the children of Esau for a possession.
