¹³ The poor and the deceitful man meet together: The LORD lightens both their eyes.

²⁵ If you lend money to any of My people that are poor by you, you shall not be to him as an usurer, neither shall you lay upon him usury. ²⁶ If you take any of your neighbor's clothing to pledge, you shall deliver it to him by that time the sun goes down:

³⁵ And if your brother be waxen poor, and fallen in decay with you; then you shall relieve him: Yes, though he be a stranger, or a sojourner; that he may live with you. ³⁶ Take you no usury of him, or increase: But fear your God; that your brother may live with you. ³⁷ You shall not give him your money on usury, nor lend him your food for increase.

⁵ Yet now our flesh is as the flesh of our brothers, our children as their children: And, see, we bring into bondage our sons and our daughters to be servants, and some of our daughters are brought to bondage already: Neither is it in our power to redeem them; for other men have our lands and vineyards. ⁶ And I was very angry when I heard their cry and these words. ⁷ Then I consulted with myself, and I rebuked the nobles, and the rulers, and said to them, "You exact usury, every one of his brother. And I set a great assembly against them.

³ Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: Lighten my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;

² The rich and poor meet together: The LORD is the maker of them all.

⁴⁵ that you may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: For He makes His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

⁹ And as Jesus departed from there, He saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of customs: And He said to him, "Follow Me." And he arose, and followed Him.
