² And I will make a great nation of you, and I will bless you, and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing:

³ And Balaam said to Balak, "Stand by your burnt offering, and I will go: Peradventure the LORD will come to meet me: And whatever he shows me I will tell you. And he went to a high place.

¹³ And Balak said to him, "Come, I implore you, with me to another place, from where you may see them: You shall see but the utmost part of them, and shall not see them all: And curse me them from there. ¹⁴ And he brought him into the field of Zophim, to the top of Pisgah, and built seven altars, and offered a bull and a ram on every altar. ¹⁵ And he said to Balak, "Stand here by your burnt offering, while I meet the LORD yonder.

¹⁹ God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: Has he said, "and shall he not do it? Or has he spoken, and shall he not make it good? ²⁰ Behold, I have received commandment to bless: And he has blessed; and I cannot reverse it.

⁵ Nevertheless the LORD your God would not listen to Balaam; but the LORD your God turned the curse into a blessing to you, because the LORD your God loved you.

²⁹ Happy are you, O Israel: Who is like to you, O people saved by the LORD, the shield of your help, and who is the sword of your excellency! And your enemies shall be found liars to you; and you shall tread on their high places.

¹⁵ In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men, in slumberings on the bed; ¹⁶ then he opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction, ¹⁷ that he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man.
