¹ And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, ² speak to the children of Israel, and take of every one of them a rod according to the house of their fathers, of all their princes according to the house of their fathers twelve rods: Write you every man's name on his rod. ³ And you shall write Aaron's name on the rod of Levi: For one rod shall be for the head of the house of their fathers. ⁴ And you shall lay them up in the tabernacle of the congregation before the testimony, where I will meet with you. ⁵ And it shall come to pass, that the man's rod, whom I shall choose, shall blossom: And I will make to cease from me the murmurings of the children of Israel, whereby they murmur against you. ⁶ And Moses spoke to the children of Israel, and every one of their princes gave him a rod apiece, for each prince one, according to their fathers' houses, even twelve rods: And the rod of Aaron was among their rods. ⁷ And Moses laid up the rods before the LORD in the tabernacle of witness. ⁸ And it came to pass, that on the next day Moses went into the tabernacle of witness; and behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi was budded, and brought forth buds, and bloomed blossoms, and yielded almonds. ⁹ And Moses brought out all the rods from before the LORD to all the children of Israel: And they looked, and took every man his rod. ¹⁰ And the LORD said to Moses, "Bring Aaron's rod again before the testimony, to be kept for a token against the rebels; and you shall quite take away their murmurings from me, that they die not. ¹¹ And Moses did so: As the LORD commanded him, so did he. ¹² And the children of Israel spoke to Moses, saying, "Behold, we die, we perish, we all perish. ¹³ Whoever comes anything near to the tabernacle of the LORD shall die: Shall we be consumed with dying?

² And the LORD said to him, "What is that in your hand?" And he said, "A rod."

³ And on the east side toward the rising of the sun shall they of the standard of the camp of Judah pitch throughout their armies: And Nahshon the son of Amminadab shall be captain of the children of Judah. ⁴ And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were three score and fourteen thousand and six hundred. ⁵ And those that do pitch next to him shall be the tribe of Issachar: And Nethaneel the son of Zuar shall be captain of the children of Issachar. ⁶ And his host, and those that were numbered of it, were fifty and four thousand and four hundred. ⁷ Then the tribe of Zebulun: And Eliab the son of Helon shall be captain of the children of Zebulun. ⁸ And his host, and those that were numbered of it, were fifty and seven thousand and four hundred. ⁹ All that were numbered in the camp of Judah were a hundred thousand and eighty thousand and six thousand and four hundred, throughout their armies. These shall first set forth. ¹⁰ On the south side shall be the standard of the camp of Reuben according to their armies: And the captain of the children of Reuben shall be Elizur the son of Shedeur. ¹¹ And his host, and those that were numbered of it, were forty and six thousand and five hundred. ¹² And those which pitch by him shall be the tribe of Simeon: And the captain of the children of Simeon shall be Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai. ¹³ And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were fifty and nine thousand and three hundred. ¹⁴ Then the tribe of Gad: And the captain of the sons of Gad shall be Eliasaph the son of Reuel. ¹⁵ And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were forty and five thousand and six hundred and fifty. ¹⁶ All that were numbered in the camp of Reuben were a hundred thousand and fifty and one thousand and four hundred and fifty, throughout their armies. And they shall set forth in the second rank. ¹⁷ Then the tabernacle of the congregation shall set forward with the camp of the Levites in the middle of the camp: As they encamp, so shall they set forward, every man in his place by their standards. ¹⁸ On the west side shall be the standard of the camp of Ephraim according to their armies: And the captain of the sons of Ephraim shall be Elishama the son of Ammihud. ¹⁹ And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were forty thousand and five hundred. ²⁰ And by him shall be the tribe of Manasseh: And the captain of the children of Manasseh shall be Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur. ²¹ And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were thirty and two thousand and two hundred. ²² Then the tribe of Benjamin: And the captain of the sons of Benjamin shall be Abidan the son of Gideoni. ²³ And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were thirty and five thousand and four hundred. ²⁴ All that were numbered of the camp of Ephraim were a hundred thousand and eight thousand and a hundred, throughout their armies. And they shall go forward in the third rank. ²⁵ The standard of the camp of Dan shall be on the north side by their armies: And the captain of the children of Dan shall be Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai. ²⁶ And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were three score and two thousand and seven hundred. ²⁷ And those that encamp by him shall be the tribe of Asher: And the captain of the children of Asher shall be Pagiel the son of Ocran. ²⁸ And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were forty and one thousand and five hundred. ²⁹ Then the tribe of Naphtali: And the captain of the children of Naphtali shall be Ahira the son of Enan. ³⁰ And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were fifty and three thousand and four hundred.

¹⁴ In the first place went the standard of the camp of the children of Judah according to their armies: And over his host was Nahshon the son of Amminadab. ¹⁵ And over the host of the tribe of the children of Issachar was Nethaneel the son of Zuar. ¹⁶ And over the host of the tribe of the children of Zebulun was Eliab the son of Helon. ¹⁷ And the tabernacle was taken down; and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari set forward, bearing the tabernacle. ¹⁸ And the standard of the camp of Reuben set forward according to their armies: And over his host was Elizur the son of Shedeur. ¹⁹ And over the host of the tribe of the children of Simeon was Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai. ²⁰ And over the host of the tribe of the children of Gad was Eliasaph the son of Deuel. ²¹ And the Kohathites set forward, bearing the sanctuary: And the other did set up the tabernacle against they came. ²² And the standard of the camp of the children of Ephraim set forward according to their armies: And over his host was Elishama the son of Ammihud. ²³ And over the host of the tribe of the children of Manasseh was Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur. ²⁴ And over the host of the tribe of the children of Benjamin was Abidan the son of Gideoni. ²⁵ And the standard of the camp of the children of Dan set forward, which was the rear-guard of all the camps throughout their hosts: And over his host was Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai. ²⁶ And over the host of the tribe of the children of Asher was Pagiel the son of Ocran. ²⁷ And over the host of the tribe of the children of Naphtali was Ahira the son of Enan.

² The LORD shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion to: "Rule in the midst of Your enemies."

³ For the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands to iniquity.

¹⁴ And fire has gone out from a rod of her branches, which has devoured her fruit, so that she has no strong rod to be a scepter to rule.' " This is a lamentation, and shall be for a lamentation.

¹⁰ It is sharpened to make a severe slaughter; it is furbished that it may glitter: Should we then make mirth? It scorns the rod of My son, as every tree.

¹³ Because it is a trial, and what if the sword scorn even the rod? It shall be no more", said the Lord GOD.

¹⁴ Feed your people with your rod, the flock of your heritage, which dwell solitarily in the woods, in the middle of Carmel: Let them feed in Bashan and Gilead, as in the days of old.

¹⁶ And these are the names of the sons of Levi according to their generations; Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari: And the years of the life of Levi were a hundred and thirty-seven years.

²⁰ And Amram took himself Jochebed his father's sister to wife; and she bore him Aaron and Moses: And the years of the life of Amram were a hundred and thirty-seven years.

² And these are the names of the sons of Aaron; Nadab the firstborn, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar. ³ These are the names of the sons of Aaron, the priests which were anointed, whom he consecrated to minister in the priest's office.

¹ And the LORD said to Aaron, "You and your sons and your father's house with you shall bear the iniquity of the sanctuary: And you and your sons with you shall bear the iniquity of your priesthood.

⁷ Therefore you and your sons with you shall keep your priest's office for everything of the altar, and within the veil; and you shall serve: I have given your priest's office to you as a service of gift: And the stranger that comes near shall be put to death.

⁶ And you shall put it before the veil that is by the ark of the testimony, before the mercy seat that is over the testimony, where I will meet with you.

³⁶ And you shall beat some of it very small, and put some of it before the testimony in the tabernacle of the congregation, where I will meet with you: It shall be most holy to you.

⁷ And Moses laid up the rods before the LORD in the tabernacle of witness.

⁵ And he spoke to Korah and to all his company, saying, "Even tomorrow the LORD will show who are his, and who is holy; and will cause him to come near to him: Even him whom he has chosen will he cause to come near to him.

¹¹ For which cause both you and all your company are gathered together against the LORD: And what is Aaron, that you murmur against him?

¹¹ And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogance of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.

¹ The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose. ² It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the LORD, and the excellency of our God.

⁴¹ And they shall burn your houses with fire, and execute judgments on you in the sight of many women: And I will cause you to cease from playing the harlot, and also you shall no longer give hire.

²⁷ Thus I will make your lewdness to cease from you, and your whoredom brought from the land of Egypt: So that you shall not lift up your eyes to them, nor remember Egypt any more.' "

⁵ I will be as the dew to Israel: He shall grow as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon.

²¹ This is the sum of the tabernacle, even of the tabernacle of testimony, as it was counted, according to the commandment of Moses, for the service of the Levites, by the hand of Ithamar, son to Aaron the priest.

² And your brothers also of the tribe of Levi, the tribe of your father, bring you with you, that they may be joined to you, and minister to you: But you and your sons with you shall minister before the tabernacle of witness.

⁴⁴ "Our fathers had the tabernacle of witness in the wilderness, as He had appointed, speaking to Moses, that he should make it according to the fashion that he had seen.

¹⁰ and in the vine were three branches: And it was as though it budded, and her blossoms shot forth; and its clusters brought forth ripe grapes:

⁵ And it shall come to pass, that the man's rod, whom I shall choose, shall blossom: And I will make to cease from me the murmurings of the children of Israel, whereby they murmur against you.

¹⁷ There I will make the horn of David to bud: I have ordained a lamp for My anointed. ¹⁸ I will clothe his enemies with shame: But his crown shall flourish upon himself."

³ As the apple tree among the trees of the woods, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste.

² In that day shall the branch of the LORD be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and suitable for those that have escaped of Israel.

²⁴ And all the trees of the field shall know that I the LORD have brought down the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have dried up the green tree, and have made the dry tree to flourish: I the LORD have spoken and have done it."

¹² But she was plucked up in fury, she was cast down to the ground, and the east wind dried up her fruit: Her strong rods were broken and withered; the fire consumed them.

¹ "I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. ² Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away: And every branch that bears fruit, He purges it, that it may bring forth more fruit. ³ Now you are clean through the word which I have spoken to you. ⁴ Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine; no more can you, unless you abide in Me. ⁵ I am the vine, you are the branches: He that abides in Me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: For without Me you can do nothing. ⁶ If a man does not abide in Me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

⁴ which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid on every side with gold, within which was the golden pot that had manna, Aaron's rod that budded, and the tablets of the covenant;

³² And Moses said, "This is the thing which the LORD commands, 'Fill an omer of it to be kept for your generations; that they may see the bread with which I have fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you forth from the land of Egypt.' ³⁸ The censers of these sinners against their own souls, let them make them broad plates for a covering of the altar: For they offered them before the LORD, therefore they are hallowed: And they shall be a sign to the children of Israel.

⁴⁰ To be a memorial to the children of Israel, that no stranger, which is not of the seed of Aaron, come near to offer incense before the LORD; that he be not as Korah, and as his company: As the LORD said to him by the hand of Moses.

¹⁹ Now therefore write you this song for you, and teach it the children of Israel: Put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the children of Israel. ²⁰ For when I shall have brought them into the land which I swore to their fathers, that flows with milk and honey; and they shall have eaten and filled themselves, and waxen fat; then will they turn to other gods, and serve them, and provoke me, and break My covenant. ²¹ And it shall come to pass, when many evils and troubles are befallen them, that this song shall testify against them as a witness; for it shall not be forgotten out of the mouths of their seed: For I know their imagination which they go about, even now, before I have brought them into the land which I swore. ²² Moses therefore wrote this song the same day, and taught it the children of Israel. ²³ And he gave Joshua the son of Nun a charge, and said, "Be strong and of a good courage: For you shall bring the children of Israel into the land which I swore to them: And I will be with you. ²⁴ And it came to pass, when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finished, ²⁵ that Moses commanded the Levites, which bore the ark of the covenant of the LORD, saying, ²⁶ take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there for a witness against you.

¹² Now the sons of Eli were sons of Belial; they did not know the LORD.

²² Then all the wicked men and men of Belial answered, of those that went with David, and said, "Because they did not go with us, we will not give them any of the spoil that we have recovered, except to every man his wife and his children, that they may lead them away, and depart."

⁴ My soul is among lions: And I lie even among those that are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.

² Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: For the LORD has spoken, "I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against Me.

⁵ Then I said, "Woe is me! For I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: For my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts."

¹⁶ For I will not contend forever, neither will I always be wroth: For the spirit would fail before Me, and the souls which I have made.

⁵ And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to children, "My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when you are rebuked by Him:

³ But of the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, 'You shall not eat of it, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.' "

⁵¹ And when the tabernacle sets forward, the Levites shall take it down: And when the tabernacle is to be pitched, the Levites shall set it up: And the stranger that comes near shall be put to death. ⁵² And the children of Israel shall pitch their tents, every man by his own camp, and every man by his own standard, throughout their hosts. ⁵³ But the Levites shall pitch all around the tabernacle of testimony, that there be no wrath on the congregation of the children of Israel: And the Levites shall keep the charge of the tabernacle of testimony.

²⁶ And he spoke to the congregation, saying, "Depart, I implore you, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of their's, lest you be consumed in all their sins.

⁴ And they shall be joined to you, and keep the charge of the tabernacle of the congregation, for all the service of the tabernacle: And a stranger shall not come near to you. ⁵ And you shall keep the charge of the sanctuary, and the charge of the altar: That there be no wrath any more on the children of Israel. ⁶ And I, behold, I have taken your brothers the Levites from among the children of Israel: To you they are given as a gift for the LORD, to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation. ⁷ Therefore you and your sons with you shall keep your priest's office for everything of the altar, and within the veil; and you shall serve: I have given your priest's office to you as a service of gift: And the stranger that comes near shall be put to death.

¹³ And the LORD's anger was kindled against Israel, and he made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation, that had done evil in the sight of the LORD, was consumed.

¹⁶ So it came to pass, when all the men of war were consumed and dead from among the people,

¹⁹ And He smote the men of Beth-Shemesh, because they had looked into the ark of the LORD, He even smote from the people fifty thousand and seventy men: And the people lamented, because the LORD had smote many of the people with a great slaughter. ²⁰ And the men of Beth-Shemesh said, "Who is able to stand before this holy LORD God? And to whom shall He go up from us?" ²¹ And they sent messengers to the inhabitants of Kirjath-Jearim, saying, "The Philistines have brought back the ark of the LORD; you come down, and bring it up to you."

⁶ And when they came to Nachon's threshing floor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it. ⁷ And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God. ⁸ And David was displeased, because the LORD had made a breach on Uzzah: And he called the name of the place Perezuzzah to this day. ⁹ And David was afraid of the LORD that day, and said, "How shall the ark of the LORD come to me? ¹⁰ So David would not remove the ark of the LORD to him into the city of David: But David carried it aside into the house of Obededom the Gittite. ¹¹ And the ark of the LORD continued in the house of Obededom the Gittite three months: And the LORD blessed Obededom, and all his household. ¹² And it was told king David, saying, "The LORD has blessed the house of Obededom, and all that pertains to him, because of the ark of God. ¹¹ And David was displeased, because the LORD had made a breach on Uzza: Why that place is called Perezuzza to this day. ¹² And David was afraid of God that day, saying, "How shall I bring the ark of God home to me? ¹³ So David brought not the ark home to himself to the city of David, but carried it aside into the house of Obededom the Gittite.

¹³ For because you did it not at the first, the LORD our God made a breach on us, for that we sought him not after the due order.

¹⁴ If he set his heart upon man, if he gather to himself his spirit and his breath; ¹⁵ all flesh shall perish together, and man shall turn again to dust.

³ If You, LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand? ⁴ But there is forgiveness with You, that You may be feared.

²² Now therefore you shall not be mockers, lest your bands be made strong: For I have heard from the Lord GOD of hosts a consumption, even determined on the whole earth.

⁵ Now Ananias, hearing these words, fell down, and gave up the ghost: Therefore great fear came on all those that heard these things.
