⁴⁰ And when He was at the place, He said to them, "Pray that you do not enter into temptation."

¹⁰ And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, "Oh that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my border, and that Your hand might be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me!" And God granted him that which he requested.

⁵ Support my goings forth in Your paths, that my footsteps do not slip.

³⁶ Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to the disciples, "Sit here, while I go and pray over there." ³⁷ And He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee with Him, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy. ³⁸ And He said to them, "My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death: Tarry here, and watch with Me." ³⁹ And He went a little further, fell on His face, and prayed, saying, "O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me: Nevertheless not as I will, but as You will." ⁴⁰ Then He came to the disciples, and found them asleep, and said to Peter, "What, could you not watch with Me one hour? ⁴¹ Watch and pray, that you do not enter into temptation: The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak." ⁴² He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, "O My Father, if this cup may not pass away from Me, unless I drink it, Your will be done." ⁴³ And He came and found them asleep again; for their eyes were heavy. ⁴⁴ So He left them, went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words. ⁴⁵ Then He came to His disciples, and said to them, "Sleep on now, and take your rest: Behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. ⁴⁶ Rise, let us be going: Behold, he who betrays Me is at hand."

Truly the spirit is ready, but the flesh is weak." ³⁹ And He went away again, and prayed, and spoke the same words. ⁴⁰ And when He returned, He found them asleep again, (for their eyes were heavy); neither did they know what to answer Him. ⁴¹ Then He came the third time, and said to them, "Sleep on now, and take your rest: It is enough, the hour has come; behold, the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. ⁴² Rise up, let us go; look, he who betrays Me is at hand."

⁴ And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil."

⁴⁶ And He said to them, "Why do you sleep? Rise and pray, lest you enter into temptation."

⁷ And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, the messenger of Satan to wound me, lest I should be exalted above measure. ⁸ Concerning this thing I sought the Lord by entreaty three times, that it might depart from me. ⁹ And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you: For My strength is made perfect in weakness." Therefore, I will most gladly rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. ¹⁰ Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: For when I am weak, then I am strong.

¹⁸ Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching to the end with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; ¹⁹ and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,

⁷ But the end of all things is at hand: Therefore be sober, and watchful with prayer.

⁸ Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour: ⁹ Resist him steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished within your brethren that are in the world.

¹⁰ Because you have kept the word of My patience, I also will keep you from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to prove by testing those that dwell upon the earth.
