¹⁰ Therefore listen to me you men of understanding: Far be it from God, that He should do wickedness; and from the Almighty, that he should commit iniquity.

²⁵ Far be it from You to do hurt in this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: And that the righteous should be as the wicked, far be it from You: Shall the Judge of all the earth not do right?"

⁴ He is the Rock, his work is perfect: For all his ways are judgment: A God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.

⁷ Why now let the fear of the LORD be upon you; take heed and do it: For there is no iniquity with the LORD our God, nor reverence of persons, nor taking of gifts.

³ Does God pervert judgment? Or does the Almighty pervert justice?

³⁴ Let men of understanding tell me, and let a wise man listen to me.

²³ Who has enjoined him his way? Or who can say, "You have worked iniquity?

²³ Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: He is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: He will not afflict.

¹⁵ to show that the LORD is upright: He is my Rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.

³² But whoever commits adultery with a woman lacks understanding: He that does it destroys his own soul.

³² He that refuses instruction despises his own soul: But he that hears reproof gets understanding.

¹ Righteous are You, O LORD, when I plead with You: Yet let me talk with You about your judgments: Why does the way of the wicked prosper? Why are they all happy who deal very treacherously?

⁴ God forbid: Moreover, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, "That You might be justified in Your sayings, and might overcome when You are judged." ⁵ But if our unrighteousness commends the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who takes vengeance? (I speak as a man.)

¹⁴ What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.

¹³ Let no man say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God": For God cannot be tempted with evil, neither does He tempt any man:
