¹⁰ And I will send the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, among them, until they are consumed from off the land that I gave to them and to their fathers.' "

¹⁹ These two things have come to you; who shall be sorry for you? Desolation, and destruction, and the famine, and the sword: By whom shall I comfort you?

¹² They have lied concerning the LORD, and said, "It is not He; neither shall evil come on us; neither shall we see sword nor famine:

¹⁶ I will also scatter them among the heathen, whom neither they nor their fathers have known: And I will send a sword after them, until I have consumed them."

¹⁵ "Therefore thus says the LORD concerning the prophets that prophesy in My name, and whom I have not sent, yet they say, 'Sword and famine shall not be in this land'; 'By sword and famine shall those prophets be consumed. ¹⁶ And the people to whom they prophesy shall be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and the sword; and they shall have none to bury them, them, their wives, nor their sons, nor their daughters: For I will pour their wickedness on them.'

² And it shall come to pass, if they say to you, 'Where shall we go forth?' then you shall tell them, 'Thus says the LORD; "Such as are for death, to death; and such as are for the sword, to the sword; and such as are for the famine, to the famine; and such as are for the captivity, to the captivity." '

⁴ "They shall die of grievous deaths; they shall not be lamented; neither shall they be buried; but they shall be as dung on the face of the earth: And they shall be consumed by the sword, and by famine; and their carcasses shall be meat for the fowls of heaven, and for the wild beasts of the earth."

⁷ And I will make void the counsel of Judah and Jerusalem in this place; and I will cause them to fall by the sword before their enemies, and by the hands of those who seek their lives: And I will give their carcasses to be meat for the fowls of the heaven, and for the wild beasts of the earth.

⁸ And it shall come to pass, that the nation and kingdom which will not serve the same Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, and that will not put their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, that nation I will punish', said the LORD, 'with the sword, and with the famine, and with the pestilence, until I have consumed them by his hand.

¹⁷ Therefore thus says the LORD; 'You have not listened to Me, in proclaiming liberty, everyone to his brother, and every man to his neighbor: Behold, I proclaim a liberty for you', said the LORD, 'to the sword, to the pestilence, and to the famine; and I will make you to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.

¹² A third part of you shall die with the pestilence, and they shall be consumed with famine in the midst of you: And a third part shall fall by the sword all around you; and I will scatter a third part into all the winds, and I will draw out a sword after them. ¹³ Thus shall My anger be accomplished, and I will cause My fury to rest on them, and I will be comforted: And they shall know that I the LORD have spoken it in My zeal, when I have accomplished My fury in them. ¹⁴ Moreover I will make you waste, and a reproach among the nations that are around you, in the sight of all who pass by. ¹⁵ So it shall be a reproach and a taunt, an instruction and an astonishment to the nations that are around you, when I shall execute judgments in you in anger and in fury and in furious rebukes. I the LORD have spoken it. ¹⁶ When I shall send upon them the evil arrows of famine, which shall be for their destruction, and which I will send to destroy you: And I will increase the famine on you, and will break your staff of bread: ¹⁷ So too I will send on you famine and evil beasts, and they shall bereave you: And pestilence and blood shall pass through you; and I will bring the sword on you. I the LORD have spoken it.' "

¹² He who is far off shall die of the pestilence; and he who is near shall fall by the sword; and he who remains and is besieged shall die by the famine: Thus will I accomplish my fury on them. ¹³ Then you shall know that I am the LORD, when their slain men shall be among their idols around their altars, on every high hill, in all the tops of the mountains, and under every green tree, and under every thick oak, the place where they offered sweet smell to all their idols. ¹⁴ So I will stretch out My hand upon them, and make the land desolate, yes, more desolate than the wilderness toward Diblath, in all their habitations: And they shall know that I am the LORD.' " ' "

¹⁵ The sword is outside, and the pestilence and the famine within: He who is in the field shall die with the sword; and he who is in the city, famine and pestilence shall devour him.

¹² The word of the LORD came again to me, saying, ¹³ "Son of man, when the land sins against Me by trespassing grievously, then will I stretch out My hand upon it, and will break the staff of its breads, and will send famine on it, and will cut off man and beast from it: ¹⁴ Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver only their own souls by their righteousness", said the Lord GOD. ¹⁵ "If I cause noisome beasts to pass through the land, and they spoil it, so that it is desolate, that no man may pass through because of the beasts: ¹⁶ Though these three men were in it, as I live", said the Lord GOD, "they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters; only they shall be delivered, but the land shall be desolate. ¹⁷ Or if I bring a sword on that land, and say, 'Sword, go through the land'; so that I cut off man and beast from it: ¹⁸ Though these three men were in it, as I live", said the Lord GOD, "they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters, but only they themselves shall be delivered. ¹⁹ Or if I send a pestilence into that land, and pour out My fury on it in blood, to cut off man and beast from it: ²⁰ Though Noah, Daniel, and Job were in it, as I live", said the Lord GOD, "they shall deliver neither son nor daughter; they shall deliver only their own souls by their righteousness." ²¹ For thus says the Lord GOD; "How much more when I send My four sore judgments on Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the noisome beast, and the pestilence, to cut off man and beast from it?

²⁷ Thus say to them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD; "As I live, surely those who are in the wastes shall fall by the sword, and he who is in the open field I will give to the beasts to be devoured, and they who are in the forts and in the caves shall die of the pestilence.
