⁶ Therefore the curse has devoured the earth, and those that dwell in it are desolate: Therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men are left.

²² I will also send wild beasts among you, which shall rob you of your children, and destroy your domestic beasts, and make you few in number; and your high ways shall be desolate.

²⁷ And the LORD shall scatter you among the nations, and you shall be left few in number among the heathen, where the LORD shall lead you.

¹⁵ But it shall come to pass, if you will not hearken to the voice of the LORD your God, to observe to do all His commandments and His statutes which I command you this day; that all these curses shall come on you, and overtake you: ¹⁶ Cursed shall you be in the city, and cursed shall you be in the field. ¹⁷ Cursed shall be your basket and your store. ¹⁸ Cursed shall be the fruit of your body, and the fruit of your land, the increase of your cows, and the flocks of your sheep. ¹⁹ Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed shall you be when you go out. ²⁰ The LORD shall send on you cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that you set your hand to for to do, until you be destroyed, and until you perish quickly; because of the wickedness of your doings, by which you have forsaken me.

⁶² And you shall be left few in number, whereas you were as the stars of heaven for multitude; because you would not obey the voice of the LORD your God.

²² So that the generation to come of your children that shall rise up after you, and the stranger that shall come from a far land, shall say, "when they see the plagues of that land, and the sicknesses which the LORD has laid on it; ²³ and that the whole land of it is brimstone, and salt, and burning, that it is not sown, nor bears, nor any grass grows in it, like the overthrow of Sodom, and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim, which the LORD overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath: ²⁴ Even all nations shall say, "Why has the LORD done thus to this land? What means the heat of this great anger? ²⁵ Then men shall say, "Because they have forsaken the covenant of the LORD God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt: ²⁶ For they went and served other gods, and worshiped them, gods whom they knew not, and whom he had not given to them: ²⁷ And the anger of the LORD was kindled against this land, to bring on it all the curses that are written in this book: ²⁸ And the LORD rooted them out of their land in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as it is this day.

¹⁸ I denounce to you this day, that you shall surely perish, and that you shall not prolong your days upon the land, where you pass over the Jordan to go to possess it. ¹⁹ I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: Therefore choose life, that both you and your seed may live:

¹⁵ Therefore it shall come to pass, that as all good things are come on you, which the LORD your God promised you; so shall the LORD bring on you all evil things, until he have destroyed you from off this good land which the LORD your God has given you. ¹⁶ When you have transgressed the covenant of the LORD your God, which he commanded you, and have gone and served other gods, and bowed yourselves to them; then shall the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and you shall perish quickly from off the good land which he has given to you.

³¹ And the strong shall be as wick, and the maker of it as a spark, and they shall both burn together, and none shall quench them.

²⁴ Who gave Jacob for a spoil, and Israel to the robbers? Did not the LORD, He against whom we have sinned? For they would not walk in His ways, neither were they obedient to His law. ²⁵ Therefore He has poured on him the fury of His anger, and the strength of battle: And it has set him on fire all around, yet he did not know it; and it burned him, yet he did not take it to heart.

³ You shall also take a few of them in number, and bind them in your skirts.

³ Then he said to me, "This is the curse that goes forth over the face of the whole earth: For everyone that steals shall be cut off as on this side according to it; and everyone that swears shall be cut off as on that side according to it." ⁴ "I will bring it forth", says the LORD of hosts, "and it shall enter into the house of the thief, and into the house of him that swears falsely by My name: And it shall remain in the midst of his house, and shall consume it with its timber and its stones."

² If you all will not hear, and if you all will not lay it to heart, to give glory to My name", says the LORD of hosts, "I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: Yes, I have cursed them already, because you all do not lay it to heart.

⁹ You all are cursed with a curse: For you all have robbed Me, even this whole nation.

¹ "For behold, the day comes, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yes, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: And the day that comes shall burn them up", says the LORD of hosts, "that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

⁶ And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse."

¹⁴ Because straight is the gate, and narrow is the pathway which leads to life, and there are few that find it.

²⁵ Then all the people answered, and said, "His blood be on us, and on our children."

²⁷ Isaiah also cries out concerning Israel, "Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:

¹⁰ But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also, and the works that are in it shall be burned up.
