1 And it came to pass after these things, that God tempted Abraham, and said to him, "Abraham": And he said, "Behold, here I am."
2 And He said, "Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and get yourselves into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell you of."
3 And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and split the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went to the place of which God had told him.
4 Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off.
5 And Abraham said to his young men, "Abide here with the donkey; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you."
6 And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and both of them went together.
7 And Isaac spoke to Abraham his father, and said, "My father": And he said, "Here I am, my son." And he said, "Behold the fire and the wood: But where is the lamb for a burnt offering?"
8 And Abraham said, "My son, God will provide Himself a lamb for a burnt offering": So they both went on together.
9 And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.
10 And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.
11 And the angel of the LORD called to him out of heaven, and said, "Abraham, Abraham": And he said, "Here I am."
12 And he said, "Do not lay your hand upon the lad, neither do anything to him: For now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son from Me."
13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: And Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.
14 And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh: As it is said to this day, "In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen."Jehovahjireh; that is, The LORD will see, or, The LORD will provide
15 And the angel of the LORD called to Abraham out of heaven the second time,
16 and said, " 'By Myself have I sworn,' says the LORD, 'for because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son:
17 That in blessing I will bless you, and in multiplying I will multiply your seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the seashore; and your seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;
18 and in your seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because you have obeyed My voice.' "
19 So Abraham returned to his young men, and they rose up and went together to Beersheba; and Abraham dwelled at Beersheba.
20 And it came to pass after these things, that it was told Abraham, saying, "Behold, Milcah, she has also born children to your brother Nahor;
21 Huz his firstborn, and Buz his brother, and Kemuel the father of Aram,
22 and Chesed, and Hazo, and Pildash, and Jidlaph, and Bethuel.
23 And Bethuel begat Rebekah: These eight Milcah bore to Nahor, Abraham's brother.
24 And his concubine, whose name was Reumah, she also bore Tebah, and Gaham, and Thahash, and Maachah.

Matthew 21:1-46
1 And when they drew near to Jerusalem, and came to Bethphage, to the mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples,
2 saying to them, "Go into the village before you, and immediately you shall find a donkey tied, and a colt with her: Loose them, and bring them to Me.
3 And if any man says anything to you, you shall say, 'The Lord has need of them'; and he will immediately send them."
4 All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,
5 "Tell the daughter of Zion, 'Behold, your King comes to you, meek, and sitting upon a donkey, and a colt the foal of a donkey.' "
6 And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them,
7 and brought the donkey, and the colt, put their clothes on them, and they set Him upon them.
8 And a very large multitude spread their clothes on the road; others cut down branches from the trees, and strew them on the road.
9 And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried out, saying: "Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is He that comes in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest."
10 And when He came into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, "Who is this?"
11 Moreover the multitude said, "This is Jesus the prophet from Nazareth of Galilee."
12 And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all those who sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of those who sold doves,
13 and said to them, "It is written, 'My house shall be called the house of prayer'; But you have made it a 'den of thieves.' "
14 Then the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple; and He healed them.
15 But when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that He did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, "Hosanna to the Son of David"; they were intensely displeased,
16 and said to Him, "Do You hear what these say?" And Jesus said to them, "Yes; have you never read, 'Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have perfected praise'?"
17 Then He left them, and went out of the city into Bethany; and He lodged there.
18 Now in the morning as He returned to the city, He was hungry.
19 And when He saw a fig tree beside the road, He came to it, and found nothing on it except leaves only, and said to it, "Let no fruit grow on you from this time forward forever." And immediately the fig tree withered away.
20 So when the disciples saw it, they marveled, saying, "How soon the fig tree is withered away!"
21 Jesus answered and said to them, "Truly I say to you, If you have faith, and do not doubt, you shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if you shall say to this mountain, 'Be removed, and be cast into the sea'; it shall be done.
22 And all things, whatever you shall ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive."
23 And when He came into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to Him as He was teaching, and said, "By what authority do you do these things? And who gave You this authority?"
24 And Jesus answered and said to them, "I will also ask you one thing, which if you tell me, I likewise will tell you by what authority I do these things.
25 The baptism of John, where was it from? From heaven, or from men?" And they reasoned among themselves, saying, "If we say, 'From heaven'; He will say to us, 'Why then did you not believe him?'
26 But if we say, 'From men'; we fear the people; for all hold John as a prophet."
27 Therefore they answered Jesus, and said, "We cannot tell." And He said to them, "Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.
28 But what do you think? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, 'Son, go work today in my vineyard.'
29 He answered and said, 'I will not': But afterward he repented, and went.
30 Then he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, 'I will go, sir': And did not go.
31 Which of those two did the will of his father?" They said to Him, "The first." Jesus said to them, "Truly I say to you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.
32 For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him: But the publicans and the harlots believed him: And you, when you had seen it, did not repent afterward, that you might believe him.
33 Hear another parable: There was a certain householder who planted a vineyard, and hedged it all around, and dug a winepress in it, and built a tower, and leased it out to vinedressers, and went into a far country:
34 Now when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the vinedressers, that they might receive the fruit of it.
35 But the vinedressers took his servants, and beat one, killed another, and stoned yet another.
36 Again, he sent other servants more than the first: And they did likewise to them.
37 But last of all he sent his son to them, saying, 'They will reverence my son.'
38 But when the vinedressers saw the son, they said among themselves, 'This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.'
39 And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him.
40 Therefore when the lord of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vinedressers?
41 They said to Him, "He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will lease out his vineyard to other vinedressers, which shall give him the fruits in their seasons."
42 Jesus said to them, "Have you never read in the scriptures: 'The stone which the builders rejected, the same has become the head of the corner: This is the LORD'S doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes'?
43 Therefore I say to you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits of it.
44 And whoever falls on this stone shall be broken: But on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder."
45 And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard His parables, they perceived that He spoke about them.
46 But when they sought to lay hands on Him, they feared the multitude, because they held Him as a prophet.
Matthew 26:1-27
1 And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, He said to His disciples,
2 "You know that after two days is the Feast of the Passover, and the Son of Man is betrayed to be crucified."
3 Then the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders of the people assembled together at the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,
4 and consulted that they might take Jesus through cunning, and kill Him.
5 But they said, "Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar among the people."
6 Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,
7 there a woman came to Him having an alabaster box of very precious fragrant ointment, and poured it on His head, as He sat to eat.
8 But when His disciples saw it, they were indignant, saying, "For what purpose is this waste?
9 For this fragrant ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor."
10 When Jesus understood this, He said to them, "Why do you trouble the woman? For she has done a good work upon Me."
11 For you always have the poor with you; but Me you do not have always.
12 For as she has poured this fragrant ointment on My body, she did it for My burial.
13 Truly I say to you, Wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, there also shall be told what this woman has done, as a memorial of her."
14 Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests,
15 and said to them, "What will you give me, and I will deliver Him to you?" And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.
16 Therefore, from that time he sought opportunity to betray Him.
17 Now on the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying to Him, "Where would you like that we prepare for You to eat the Passover?"
18 And He said, "Go into the city to such a man, and say to him, 'The Master says, "My time is at hand; I will keep the Passover at your house with My disciples." ' "
19 Then the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them; and they made ready the Passover.
20 Now when the evening had come, He sat down with the twelve.
21 And as they were eating, He said, "Truly I say to you, That one of you shall betray me."

3 David smote also Hadadezer, the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to recover his border at the river Euphrates.
4 And David took from him a thousand chariots, and seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen: And David hamstrung all the chariot horses, but reserved of them for a hundred chariots.
5 And when the Syrians of Damascus came to succor Hadadezer king of Zobah, David slew of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.

3 And the princes of the children of Ammon said to Hanun their lord, Think you that David does honor your father, that he has sent comforters to you? Has not David rather sent his servants to you, to search the city, and to spy it out, and to overthrow it?
4 Why Hanun took David's servants, and shaved off the one half of their beards, and cut off their garments in the middle, even to their buttocks, and sent them away.

8 And the children of Ammon came out, and put the battle in array at the entering in of the gate: And the Syrians of Zoba, and of Rehob, and Ishtob, and Maacah, were by themselves in the field.
9 When Joab saw that the front of the battle was against him before and behind, he chose of all the choice men of Israel, and put them in array against the Syrians:
10 And the rest of the people he delivered into the hand of Abishai his brother, that he might put them in array against the children of Ammon.
11 And he said, "If the Syrians be too strong for me, then you shall help me: But if the children of Ammon be too strong for you, then I will come and help you.

13 And Joab drew near, and the people that were with him, to the battle against the Syrians: And they fled before him.
14 And when the children of Ammon saw that the Syrians were fled, then fled they also before Abishai, and entered into the city. So Joab returned from the children of Ammon, and came to Jerusalem.
15 And when the Syrians saw that they were smitten before Israel, they gathered themselves together.

68 "Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for He has visited and redeemed His people,
69 and has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;
70 as He spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets, who have been since the world began:
71 That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all who hate us;
72 to perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember His holy covenant;
73 the oath which He swore to our father Abraham,
74 that He would grant to us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve Him without fear,
75 in holiness and righteousness before Him, all the days of our life.

Hebrews 11:1-40
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
2 For by it the elders obtained a good report.
3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
4 By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: And by it he being dead still speaks.
5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; "and was not found, because God had translated him": For before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him: For he that comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him.
7 By faith Noah, being warned by God of things not yet seen, moved with fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his house; by which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
8 By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out into a place which he should afterwards receive as an inheritance; and he went out, not knowing where he was going.
9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:
10 And he looked for a city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
11 Through faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised.
12 Therefore even from just one man, and him as good as dead, were born so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore.
13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them far off, and were persuaded by them, embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
14 For those that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.
15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from which they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.
16 But now they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly: Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: For He has prepared a city for them.
17 By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: And he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,
18 of whom it was said, "In Isaac shall your seed be called":
19 Concluding that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from where he also received him in parable form.
20 By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.
21 By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed both of the sons of Joseph; and worshiped, leaning upon the top of his staff.
22 By faith Joseph, when he was dying, made mention of the departure of the children of Israel; and gave commands concerning his bones.
23 By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months by his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king's command.
24 By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;
25 choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
26 esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: For he had respect for the recompense of the reward.
27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: For he endured, as seeing Him who is invisible.
28 Through faith he kept the Passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them.
29 By faith they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land: Which the Egyptians attempting to do were drowned.
30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed around seven days.
31 By faith the harlot Rahab did not perish with those that did not believe, when she had received the spies with peace.
32 And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon, and Barak, and Samson, and Jephthah; also of David, and Samuel, and the prophets:
33 Who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,
34 quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.
35 Women received their dead raised to life again: And others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:
36 And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yes, moreover of chains and imprisonment:
37 They were stoned, they were sawn into parts, were tempted, were slain with the sword: They wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;
38 (of whom the world was not worthy): They wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.
39 And all these, having obtained a good report through faith, did not receive the promise:
40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they should not be made perfect without us.

11 Give us help from trouble: For vain is the help of man.
12 Through God we shall do valiantly: For it is He that shall tread down our enemies.
