¹⁹ Let us therefore pursue the things of peace and those which edify one another.

⁹ Blessed are the peace makers, for they shall be called children of God.

⁵⁰ Salt is good; but if the salt has become insipid, with what will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace one with another.

¹⁸ if possible, as much as may be in your power, live peaceably with all men,

² Let us each please our neighbor in that which is good for edification;

¹⁵ But if the unbelieving companion departs, let him depart; the brother or the sister is not bound in such cases; but God has called us to peace.

³³ as I also please all in all things, not seeking my own profit but that of many, that they may be saved.

¹² So also you, since you are earnestly desirous of spirits [spiritual gifts], seek to abound for the edification of the church. ¹³ Let him therefore that speaks with a tongue pray that he may interpret, ¹⁴ For if I pray with a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. ¹⁵ What then is [to be done]? I will pray with the spirit, I will pray also with the understanding; I will sing with the spirit, I will sing also with the understanding; ¹⁶ since if you bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupies the place of the unlearned say, Amen, to your thanksgiving, since he knows not what you say? ¹⁷ For you indeed give thanks well; but the other is not edified.

^{26 (6:11)} What then is [to be done] brothers? When you come together, each one of you has a psalm, has a doctrine, has a revelation, has an interpretation; let all things be done for edification.

³ using diligence to keep the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace. ⁴ There is one body, and one spirit, as you also are called in one hope of your call; ⁵ one Lord, one faith, one baptism; ⁶ one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. ⁷ And to each one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

²⁹ Let no evil word proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good for useful edification, that it may afford benefit to those that hear.

^{1 (1:5)} If therefore there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort in love, if any participation of the Spirit, if any affections and compassions, ² fulfil my joy, that you have the same mind, having the same love, sympathizing with each other, having one opinion. ³ Do nothing in strife or vain glory, but in humility let each esteem others better than himself, ⁴ and let each consider not his own interests, but also those of others.

^{12 (2:3)} Put on, therefore, as elect and beloved saints of God, hearts of compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, long-suffering, ¹³ forbearing one another, and forgiving one another if any one has a charge against any, as Christ forgave you, so [do] you also, ¹⁴ and in addition to all these [put on] love, which is the bond of perfection. ¹⁵ And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, for which you have been called in one body; and be thankful.

¹¹ Wherefore exhort one another, and edify one another, as you also do. ^{12 (2:6)} And we beseech you, brothers, to know those who labor among you, and preside over you in the Lord and admonish you,

⁴ nor attend to myths or interminable genealogies, which occasion disputes rather than a dispensation of God by faith, [do.]

^{22 (1:8)} But avoid youthful desires, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.

¹⁴ Follow peace with all men and holiness, without which no one shall see the Lord,

^{13 (2:2)} What wise and intelligent man is there among you? Let him show his works by good conduct, in the meekness of wisdom. ¹⁴ But if you have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, boast not and lie not against the truth. ¹⁵ This wisdom comes not from above, but is earthly, natural, demoniacal. ¹⁶ For where envy and strife are, there are disorder and every evil work. ¹⁷ But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, easy to be persuaded, full of mercy and of good fruits, without partiality, without hypocrisy. ¹⁸ And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace to those who make peace.
