¹ A REVELATION of Jesus Christ which God gave to him, to make known to his servants things which must soon take place. He sent and made it known through his angel to his servant John,

³² What he has seen and heard, that he testifies to, yet no one accepts his testimony.

²⁶ I have many things to say about you and to judge. But he who sent me is true, and what I have heard from him I speak in the world."

⁴⁹ But he who sent me — the Father himself — has given me a command what I am to say and what I am to speak,

¹⁵ I no longer call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I call you friends, for all that I have heard from the Father I have made known to you.

⁸ For the words that thou didst give me I have given them, and they have accepted them and have perceived truly that I came forth from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.

²⁵ To him who is able to make you strong according to the good news which I bear, and the proclamation of Jesus Christ, and according to the revelation of the mystery kept secret through ages,

¹² For neither did I receive it from man nor was I taught it through man, but through a revelation of Jesus Christ.

³ that by revelation the mystery has been disclosed to me, as I wrote before briefly,

³ Blessed is he who reads, and blessed are those who hear the words of this prophecy and keep in mind what is written in it; for the time is near. ⁴ John to the seven Churches in Asia: Grace be to you and peace from him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven Spirits that are before his throne,

⁹ I, John, your brother and fellow sharer in the distresses and the kingdom and the endurance in Jesus, came to the island called Patmos, for the sake of the message of God and the testimony of Jesus.

¹⁹ Write what you have seen, and what is and what is to be hereafter —

¹ AFTER this I looked and there was an open door in heaven and the voice that I had heard at first, as if of a trumpet speaking with me, said, "Come up here and I will show you things that must come to pass hereafter."

² I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

⁶ Then he said to me, "These words are trustworthy and true. The Lord God of the spirits of the prophets has sent his angel to show to his servants what must soon come to pass.

¹⁶ "I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the bright morning Star."
