¹ And seeing the multitudes, he went up on the mountain: and when he sat down, his disciples came to him:

¹⁸ And walking by the sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishermen. ¹⁹ And he said to them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. ²⁰ And they immediately left their nets, and followed him. ²¹ And going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them. ²² And they immediately left the boat and their father, and followed him.

²⁵ And great multitudes of people followed him from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond the Jordan.

² Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; ³ Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the tax gatherer; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; ⁴ Simon the Zealot, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.

² And great multitudes gathered around him, so that he went into a boat, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore.

²⁹ And Jesus departed from there, and came near to the sea of Galilee; and went up on a mountain, and sat down there.

¹³ And he went up to the mountain, and called to him those he wanted: and they came to him.

²⁰ And the multitude came together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread.

¹ And again he began to teach by the seaside: and a great multitude gathered around him, so that he entered into a boat, and sat in it; and the whole multitude was on the shore.

¹³ And when it was day, he called his disciples: and from them he chose twelve, whom he also named apostles; ¹⁴ Simon, (whom he also named Peter,) and Andrew his brother, James and John, Philip and Bartholomew, ¹⁵ Matthew and Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon called the Zealot, ¹⁶ And Judas the son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.

² And a great multitude followed him, because they saw the miraculous signs which he performed on those who were diseased. ³ And Jesus went up on the mountain, and there he sat with his disciples.
