¹⁵ Therefore, when you shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place, (whoever reads, let him understand:)

¹⁴ When you see the abomination of desolation standing where it should not be, (let him who reads understand,) then let those who are in Judaea flee to the mountains:

⁴³ For the days shall come upon you, when your enemies shall build an embankment about you, and surround you, and keep you in on every side,

²⁰ And when you shall see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near.

⁴⁸ If we let him go on like this, all men will believe in him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and our nation.

¹³ And they set up false witnesses, who said, This man does not cease to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and the law:

²⁸ Crying out, Men of Israel, help: This is the man who teaches all men everywhere against the people, and the law, and this place: and further, he has also brought Greeks into the temple, and has polluted this holy place.

¹ Therefore, we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should slip away.

³ Blessed is he who reads, and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and heed those things which are written in it: for the time is at hand.

²² He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
